"eyewitness news" reporter cherri greg joins with us more on that. cherri what can you tell us. >> reporter: well, nicole, i can tell thaw 39th police district sergeant was well like, he was dedicated, he was a family man and a he will be missed. i saw officers and personnel from the 39th police district coming in and they are having a very tough morning. as you can see from the footage that we have here, the police tell us that the officer was driving along, in roxborough along the winding section of the 6100 block of henry avenue, near du pont around midnight on saturday and that is where police say that the sergeant crashed his dodge ram truck into a tree. no other vehicle was involved, in the crash but the sergeant's truck was said to be badly damaged. the the officer was off-duty and was the only person in the vehicle. he was rushed to einstein hospital, and police have now confirmed that he has died. his name and age has not yet been released, pending the notifications of his family. back out here live i spoke with a supervisor here, at a 39th p
