. ♪ ♪ cheryl: and hello, everyone, i'm cheryl casone in for liz claman today.is the last hour of trading. as we come onto the air, stocks are fighting back after steep losses, triple-digit losses. at one point the dow was down, get this, 135 points. it has since coming back, it is now hovering in positive territory, so what a day we are having as far as the markets go. a pair of dow components among the biggest losers, pfizer missing first quarter revenue targets this morning. that stock, as you can see on your screen, down nearly 3%. rough day for pfizer. take a look at jpmorgan, that stock down about 2.5%. the banking giant warned it expects fixed income and equities trading revenue going to fall 20% this quarter from just a year ago. big, negative headline for jpmorgan. one factor that is helping to cut this morning's losses, we got some good news on the u.s. economy, and the services sector in particular. it's the usm, institute for -- ism, institute for supply management, saying services grew at the fastest pace in eight months, so that is certainly helpin

thank you, cheryl.voted to propose rules that would allow internet providers to create a paid fast lane for some websites. liz: peter barnes is outside of the fcc in washington. peter, we need to clarify this, what happened today, 3-2, and as well what the actual proposal is. >> well, liz, among other things the fcc proposal asks the public for comment on whether it should ban deals for fast lanes on internet but the fcc also is asking for comment on whether content providers like netflix, amazon and google should be allowed to pay internet service providers like at&t, comcast and verizon for, for this priority, faster routing service as long as they, as long as these deals are quote, commercially-reasonable. and some content providers already have these kind of deals. now the proposal is highly controversial. protesters disrupted today's meeting three times and had to be escorted from the meeting. critics say this proposal would jeopardize network neutrality. would jeopardize the open internet, open to

cheryl, jason levine have three boys who when you look at them you know right away they're brothers, isaac, sydney and ruben. they have loved ice hockey since he was young, when he was 7 years old, sydney suffered moderate concussions on the ice and a few years later he suffered a more severe concussion in the game and after the injury both boys had headaches and they started struggling in class. they started acting out. isaac's concussion kept him out of school for a while and as you might imagine, cheryl was horrified as she put it. you only have one brain. that's a good point. and you want to make sure that you're treating it right. fortunately with the help of their doctors both boys' health and behavior improved and sydney was back on the ice ten weeks after his concussion. he's hoping to play varsity next year as a freshman and next winter isaac played forward as his high school team won the the state championship. cheryl and jason could have pulled their boys out and it was such a scare and had their doctors recommended it and that's what they would have done and just like mil

wife, cheryl, for their commitment to freedom, but i must oppose the freedom act that's on the floor today. this is not the bill that was reported out of the judiciary committee unanimously. i voted for that bill, not because it was perfect but because it was a step in the right direction. after the bill was reported out, changes were made without the knowledge of the committee members, and i think the result is a bill that actually will not end bulk collections, regretfully. as mr. scott has said, our job is not to trust but to codify, and if you take a look at the selection changes made in the bill, it would allow for bulk collection should the n.s.a. do so. further, i would note that the
