cheryl: we shall see. chris, i heard the most bearish call for crude was $35 a barrel. >> right, and there's a possibility of it. there's an article out in some of the trades where they think $42 may be the breakeven point for the shale oil producers. if that's a common thought, you may see guys try and push it down there. the other guys are technical traders, look at the $100 level, if you see the 62 bucks off that, that's 38. the 38-42 level, a couple target zones for technical traders. really anybody's guess. people there, when we bottom out, nobody is going to get a text message five minutes before it happens. cheryl: except we have televisions and we're taping all of you right now. peter, quick, take the oil story into 2015. what is your best trading idea peter for 2015? >> well, i guess be cautious in crude oil. i don't see anything changing with the buy and demand situation. like you said, may be a target of $35. remember in 2009 we pulled back to 32 without shale and much bigger abroad. cheryl: we

cheryl: all right. really think we're going to get some good deals on some luxury cars and trucks. the audi seems to be one of the better performing vehicles of 2014. if you had to pick a top performing vehicle, what would it be? >> well, the top performers this year actually, you know, you're going to like this because the ram, the ram trucks are doing very well this year. that one made one of the biggest gains this year. they introduced a new diesel, and i think a lot of people have curiosity about that, and they were concerned about fuel economy earlier in the year, so that was selling very well. also interestingly the mitsubishi introduced the new mirage which is an economy car, and that car's done well and given them a very big boost in their year-over-year sales. cheryl: we're looking at all these cars on the road. with gas prices where they're at, they were $1.99 last week when i was home in phoenix, it really is a good time to, i guess, get one of these new cars. thank you very much for being he

cheryl: michael, u.s. seems to be more attractive play, the best play if you will considering global markets have a lot of pressure particularly with regard to western europe. will that be same story for 2015? do you think u.s. is place to be? >> appears that way into the new year. you have slowing recessionary economies in parts of europe, russia, central america, south america, parts of asia. or at least anemically growing japan is also a problem. u.s. we're growing anemically. annualized gdp first three quarters is 2 1/2%. we're growing despite all the headwind in front of us. that is better than rest of the world. going into the new year seems likely that will continue. always different cut to predict out anything going forward. so i think it's a food start. we'll see where it goes. david: todd horowitz, i know you think the market is in a fed bubble right now, or fed-induced bubble, if that is the case, i'm saying it is, you do, but i'm not saying it is, if it is in a bubble is 2015 the year that bubb

reporting live in san jose, i'm cheryl hurd, nbc bay area news. >> thank you, cheryl. >>> a south bay police officer's job is in jeopardy tonight after he sent out some controversial tweets. san jose police officer phillip white is a 20-year veteran and a familiar face at community events. now, though, he's been placed on leave as his bosses reviewed tweets sent from his personal account. the tweets appear to be in response to the nationwide protests surrounding the ferguson and new york grand jury decisions that failed to indict white police officers. one tweet said, "threaten me or my family and i will use my god-given and law-appointed right and duty to kill you." another said, "by the way, if anyone feels they can't breathe or their lives matter, i'll be at the movies tonight, off duty, carrying my gun." an online petition is demanding that white be fired. the police union has condemned his tweets. >>> now to a dramatically different protest, both unfolding in oakland today. this evening a peaceful candlelight vigil at lake merit. earlier today, though, dramatic shutdown of the en

i'm cheryl jennings. >> i'm dan ashley.as been canceled after protesters threatened to shut it down. it's not clear if they will take to the streets. >> laura anthony finished talking with the mayor and police chief and joins us from city hall. laura? >> reporter: well, i can tell you officially the mayor and police chief in berkeley said they canceled tonight's city council meeting because it's usually held in a room that holds about 125 people. on social media, demonstrators say they planned to come to the meeting, try to shut it down, so the mayor said they were actually canceling or postponing the meeting to find a room that had larger capacity. they also admitted that they had some concerns they might be overwhelmed again by demonstrators. monday night's demonstration in berkeley was perhaps the biggest yet this week. but also arguably the most peaceful. at least compared with the vandalism of the two nights before. yet there was still a fair amount of disruption monday, especially for those driving on interstate 80. a

cheryl, first to you, when the president gave a speech, september 10th. he said he wanted to do these things. to help with the moderate syrian to fight assad, and but he had to get the money from congress. well, then i thought maybe congress didn't give him the money. september 18th. 8 days later he had had the money to do. this it was authorized to approve $220.5 million. what's the problem? >> well, greta, the fact is this president never wants to take hard action when it comes to foreign affairs. he never wants to take any type of strong stance. he military at all in any kind of overseas conflict. so what he basically did, with the back drop of two american journalists being beheaded. and polls showing that his foreign policy was falling in favor with the american citizen, he he had to come out and make some kind of a strong statement, you know, it was at a time when the elections were heating up and he was worried about his democrats keeping office. so these are are all playing on his mind as he comes out and makes what he hopes is a strong statement.
