cheryl casone from the fox business network joins me now with more companies who are hiring. merry christmas. make some more jake humphreys out there in the united states. there are more jobs out there. >> you've been asked to find great companies that are hierri. let's start with bank of america. >> one thing for bank of america, they're looking for advisors. most are west coast jobs. you're looking los angeles, san diego but also phoenix, arizona. this need 160 advisors by the end of march, first quarter. here's what's happening. people are saving more and trying to get their credit card debt paid down. now when they have the larger amount of savings and we've seen savings rates jump over the last 12 months, they don't know what to do with that and they're afraid of the stock market. they're afraid of how to invest that money but they know they need some guidance. these advisors are going to contact people who maybe have $150,000 to $200,000 set aside. so not high net worth individuals but people have something, they're nervous, merrill lynch and bank of america want to jump

i am cheryl casone and welcome to cashin' n we have wayne and john and tracey and john. and joining us the president of mercer and associates david mercer. johnathon this story is fascinating. you think that big labor is hurting businesses like it did american? >> sure, we hear on this program how union help employees. that was one of the main factors cited by american airlines in the bankruptcy. their pilots make 10 and 15 percent more than competitors and they were offered by the company job security and a signing bonus and they walked away and now the company is bankrupt. that happens a lot with union-dominated firms. >> they negotiated two weeks with the union and negotiated with the pilots with no deal on the table. is it the fault of the unions. >> when you say in a labor dispute whose fault is it? the problem is a simple one and johnathon touched on it. competition is what makes the airlines work or not work. if they compete with each other. if they are not competing on a level playing field someone gets an advantage. in the free market system you need competition

cheryl casone from the fox business network joins me now.e. >> i want to start in brookstone. all five companies holiday jobs that could be full time. i had the ceo on my fox business show last week, he brought in some of the products they'll be selling. i asked him are you going to be hiring? here's what he said. >> i think we're hiring smarter this year. our growth last year was a lot of pop-up stores. this year, we take the best of those stores, about 125 and opened 125 seasonal stores and spent a lot more time on training. we spent a lot more time on hiring associates up front so they can spend time and understand all of our great products and how to present those products to customers. >> and the top position sales associate. >> sales associates and the pop-up stores, again, a lot of these have been very successful. brookstone is actually very smart about real estate. they go into really high end malls, for instance, and they -- they've been going more and more into airports. there's going to be growth at the company. but don't have spe

fox business network cheryl casone is live with the story. cheryl, this is great news. we want to get it anywhere we can but the big question is, are we out of the woods yet? >> reporter: no we're not. certainly the fact we're below 400,000 on initial claims is nice to see. but continuing claims, i look at those that file but staying on unemployment. that rose in this report. that is what concerns me the most. you have holiday shopping happening now. holiday jobs filled. all retailers stocked up. where are those people? why do we have these tiling coming in now in the middle of holiday season? a, that doesn't make sense to me. you still have 7.23 million americans are sitting on unemployment right now. and i just got a survey a few moments ago from challenger, gray & christmas and they say 10% of those surveyed believe if they're going to get a job, it will be a year from now. we still see pessimism with regards to job-seekers. 8.6%. that's where we stand right now. most economists believe we'll stay in that range all the way through election day. we have a lot to watch

. >> cheryl casone is from the fox business network and joins us with the biggest companies hiring theyou're still looking for holiday jobs, guys. i mean, there's still -- some of these companies are actually going to still be hiring some extra hands to get them into the first quarter of 2012. so there's still jobs out there. >> let's talk about the container store. 53 locations, 22 states. >> yeah, the container store is going to be looking at -- they think that these positions are at least going to go through mid february. they need sales associates and managers. this is one of the best companies to work for according to fortune for the past 12 years. they are really into on-the-job training. most sales associates get 10 hours of training. 200 hours of training over a year. that's a big difference. >> what -- >> all sorts of containers, you've never been there? >> no. >> never been to a container store? brian, oh, it's fun. walls to walls of stuff that you can put your stuff into that stuff. >> it will be a road trip. meanwhile, if you look good in a t-shirt, may i suggest town sport
