cheryl casone joins us now and has the live analysis from our virtual studio. good evening, cheryl. >> good evening to you. all night long right here at fox business were working in the studio bringing viewers insight into how voters are feeling immediately after they cast their ballots. they're just about a half an hour before the first wave of polls close. let's take a look at how voters are feeling about issue number one come everybody, the economy. a question we asked, with a top economic problems facing people like you and hear the results. the biggest issue, unemployment and a bit of a surprise, 39%. rising prices, 36%. taxes 14%, and the housing market coming in at 7%. and then the next question we asked voters, who do they blame for the u.s. economy current problems. take a look at this one, more of them actually blame president bush than they do president obama for the issues facing them right now. 51% saying they blame president bush, 40% blame president obama. all about taxes, whether or not to extend the bush tax cuts. a huge issue for both candidate

we continue count down to the closing bell with cheryl casone. eryl: apple is running ads touting sales for the day after thanksgiving. is it the time point for the tech giant towards discounting? they have never done this before. adam shapiro at more. >> apple needs to be careful if you listen to the marketing gurus says you can cheat and a brand by offering discounts because once you do it once you can't go back but take a look at what epaulet you go to their web site or what people have received as far as e-mails from apple saying this friday there is something for everyone including new. a call at the shopping event. it starts at midnight. they won't save what items are for sale but as you look down on your screen you see they have and ipad. they did do this last year. they offer discounts that range from $40 to $60 off of ipods and ipads, only $20 and imax. the question is with a bear to offer incentive to purchase because pc sales, desktop sales haven't been as strong in all categories but for apple they did a little better. when we got the

cheryl casone is in new york. she will be guiding you through the last hour of trading. how are things looking? cheryl: things a r looking a bit better -- things are looking a bit better. we have a very mixed picture for markets at this hour as we move into the close. the dow and s&p are actually both higher. the dow up about 17 points, up more than 80 points though at session highs today. it's been a volatile day for traders. the dow falling more than 66 points at its session lows. the dow is up by 17 points. very volatile, very rocky day for stocks. one of the things that helped the dow out earlier on to hit the session highs, shares of home depot, by far the biggest winner on the dow today. the company hitting a new high after a strong earnings report and positive outlook for the next quarter. little pullback on home depot right now. but again home depot really the true winner to have day and taking the dow higher. let's get to the floor show. we have traders standing by at the new york stock exchange, the cme group and the nymex. at the new york stock exchange, you kn

cheryl casone he are. reporter: you have been talking about this exact issue. lot of the numbers are coming in the fox business right now. they are coming out of the battleground states. let's talk about ohio. it's nothing that come as you all know. constant questions that governor romney was asking while he's on the campaign trail. are you better off than you are now than you were four years ago? let's take a look 25% say that they were better off. this is today as they walked out of the polling stations. 43% say my situation right now is actually the same. 31% is a high number. saying that things are actually worse off for them right now. this is likely a must win state for governor romney. this issue could be a bit perjurious. who would handle the issue of medicare better? 50% said it is the president. 46% saying that mitt romney would better handle medicare. the president has an edge. but i wanted to take a look at this. 46% say the president can better handle the economy. when it comes to the economy, mitt romney has that lead. we will keep watching this a
