i am cheryl casone in for liz claman. we are getting breaking news and to fox business. american stick and billions more dollars in debt. the federal reserve saying this is consumer credit that will affect the market. for the month of may consumer credit jumping at 7.5% to $3.2 trillion. and most of that was in non-revolving debt. student loans, auto loans. those two numbers spiked a lot more than they should have. one hour to go, look at the averages, now we are once again down triple digits, 107, heading toward the session lows once again. the s&p to the downside, the nasdaq in particular at this point down for a second day in a row. the tech heavy nasdaq has been so strong, but within the nasdaq you have a lot of names. amazon, google, twitter, sharply lower. some are affecting the s&p as well. looking at a name like delta airlines. financials, goldman sachs, all of those are down. we will give you a sense of what is happening, but part of it is going to second quarter earnings season. alcoa will be reporting, expectations are that we will get earnings per share at. t

. -- cheryl casone has all the details. we're getting american express. earnings per share was 1.38, they came in at a buck 43. actually a very nice beat for this company. this is 10% increase from a year ago. on revenue, not a huge beat but nice beat. 8.7 billion was actual revenue estimate. 8.66 billion was that. a few other headlines crossing. u.s. card services reporting second quarter net income of $770 million that. was gain of 4%. the numbers are pretty good. international card services are down, that is not a good thing. international card services down 63% from a year ago. a mixed bag on international side, not looking so great. on domestic side for american express the numbers pretty good. numbers earnings per share. david: the stock is not moving at all after-hours because the fact it come up, by the way international figures, not very surprising realize most places overseas don't take american express. you try to pass american express card off anywhere in europe they will ask you for a visa. they will turn it down. larry, any surprises here on

i'm cheryl casone in for liz claman today, the last hour of trading and stocks are hitting session highs, in the last hour in particular, since the fed news broke, those minutes coming out and immediately after the release, stocks dipped slightly and quickly recovered losses. investors cheering the feds, exclamation point, on bond-buying program. fed announcement on october end date just over three months from now. as you can see there is dow, up 78 point, 16,984. barely off of session highs for the dow just by four points. 16,988 was the high there. s&p new fresh high for the s&p. see if we can close here, there will be great to have the first hire of the s&p. the high 1973, the s&p is at 1972. sitting on session highs as we look at numbers right now. this would be the first positive move since last thursday. remember the dow and the s&p closing last thursday before the holiday at record highs. we're digging deeper into the fed minutes. in just a moment, some of our guests have a different perspective from the markets on exactly what the minutes mean? is the economy in great shape? that

jonathan james back with us along with cheryl casone. what do you think of this? d news for those franchises. we are talking about jobs and even worse, the jobs picture, already getting the minimum wage debate going for $15 and now we are talking about this. this means, i think these franchisees' will start to actually close their stores and i think also you will see this case get fought out in the court system because mcdonald's says they will fight it and they should fight it. melissa: it has big implications. at the same time it is not surprising. you see folks picketing in front of mcdonald's, you mentioned the fact that mcdonald's leon's 15% of those restaurants you see out there. they are small businesses and wants to link these guys together and hold them responsible. is it fair? >> the nlrb does not have a great record defending itself in court. this will be another one where the federal courts, you talking about blowing up decades of legal precedent about the responsibilities of a restaurant versus its franchise boners. these are separate entities and inde

chairman cheryl casone how did they do. >> liz and david, 13.69 billion was revenue estimate. came in 13.8 billion on revenue. earnings per share, came in at 55 cents earnings per share. the estimate 52 cents. nice, nice outlook as far as third quarter revenue guidance goes. coming in very, very strong. bid and ask look like stock is doing very well after the hours. up 1% on results for intel. looks like they will get a share repurchase program. intel saying board of directors authorizing increase of $20 billion to the share repurchase program. that is always a good sign seeing a company doing that. numbers coming in fast and furious on intel. a strong beat on earnings per share. a strong beat on revenue. stock is moving higher. as i'm looking a my screen. both can see the stock on your screens as well. david: minute you mentioned that stock, minute you mentioned that stock repurchase we saw it go up another tick. clearly above that $32 mark. it is a strong sign for the stock price. not necessarily for the company. but when you add it all together, liz, this is a really good r
