cheryl casone has more. >> cheryl: good morning.ol did not go as planned for school students, particularly innen 82s at one high school. all the kids,a arrived, there were so many migrant kids, many new york city kids, resident kids had to go to nearby buildings. 36% have chronic absenteeism in new york. that means you have migrants enrolling, as well as if you have kids come back into school and the absentee rate go down, you'll have a big crisis in schools. 21,000 migrant kids are enrolled. according to new york city department of education, 30,000 migrant kids are eligible to attend class and 21,000 have enrolled. it is estimated there are 60,000 school-aged kids in the area. and the cost has been brought up by residents. mayor eric adams estimates it will cost $4.7 billion on migrant support just for this year. it will be over 12 billion over three fiscal years, that is the estimate. just to give you perspective, guys, $4.7 billion is equal to cost of critical services for the city like sanitation, parks an and -- fire departmen
