cheryl davis, human rights commission. 5 want the superintendent to know that i'm watching the timer and i will try to stick to my time. i want to hit some things pretty quickly. want to recognize and thank the full board of education, the commissioners, for this opportunity and president and vice president for giving us time and space. there are some of you with us tonight. we launched the mbsk youth council. that has been picked up by opportunity youth united. we'll be using them as community action team for san francisco this is trying to show that the heart of this, it starts with the youth and it builds from there. and we want to make sure that mbsk is moved by young people. the next most important part is our community collaboratives. those partners in the packet you have, there's a list of the five and one of which is post secondary pathways with being focused on how we're supporting young people how they graduate from sfusd and what that process looks like. and then lastly the larger partnership with ocof, which has been doing the groundwork around data collection. we want to

cheryl davis human rights commission. i actually wanted to drop off a few of the cfi booklets. i will e-mail sergeant kilshaw. the white paper from stanford, i wanted to share with you all which i realize i have met with chief scott, and we are planning for the summer. what i realized when i have to recognize the director henderson invites me every week to these wonderful meetings. i always say no. tonight i am here. i wanted to share with you all a snapshot of the report from stanford on the program that we do each year with the police department, and i also wanted to share that the san francisco foundation and silicone valley foundation have given us a little bit of money to pilot this regionally. we will this summer do a small pilot in oakland as well as in san jose. i realize that when i arrived in here that we haven't effectively, i haven't been great about making a connection to turn the work directly with the police commission. i had worked in the past with susie loftus to be engaged. i continued that partnership with the commissioner thurman. i have not continued that i

i would like to make a few comments and -- i know cheryl davis was here but i don't see her now. i want to thank from the bottom of my heart all of you that came out to speak today. sharing your experience and your trauma in such a public setting is scary and it's hard and quite frankly it's heroic, and i can't tell you how much i appreciate how much you have all educated me over the last few months starting with jane doe, who has opened up my eyes to this horrific crime, it's prevalence, and the absolutely inadequate response that we have in the city of san francisco. the issue of sexual assault and harassment as we have all been walking with the me too movement and the times up movement it's an epidemic. one in two of us will be sexually assaulted. one in six men will be sexually assaulted in their lifetime. if there were any other crime of this magnitude and this frequency in our society, any other health epidemic like rape happening in this country, i am pretty sure that alarm bells going off that resources would be poured into this issue and there would be protests in the st
