nbc bay area cheryl hurd joins us live with the details. cheryl. >> reporter: well police here in margot and laugh yit have been wondering about this for decades but it took a hike ner the spring to help solve the mystery. when a hiker discovered human bones under a treel over this hill. the police chief says the detectives first thought of ha two decade old case the disappearance of this man richard allen salmons. >> that was a case we were looking at from the beginning. >> samens was reported missing about hi his family on august 2nd wallet and identification left behind. >> he was at home. and decided he needed to go for a walk and lestft his home with a mile of where he was found. >> on march 16th of this year the break investigators needed thanks to the hiker who found the remains were turned over to a dna laboratory in richmond process. after four months of testing the remains were identified at samens. police are aren't sure how he died but autopsy results show no signs of foul play. a person inside the home had no comment. >> i hope

cheryl hurd joins us live in saratoga where do things stand. >> the fire is 75% contained, 10 acres burned, no homes threatened. but the problem tonight as you said a drone which brought everything to a halt. late this evening, officials are confirming that a drone was spotted flying over the fire burning in the saratoga hills. that presented a major problem. >> we had a helicopter coming in on a drop and it had to be waived off because the drone was spotted. that investigation is ongoing. >> reporter: it's ongoing because flying drones in an emergency zone is a violation of faa rules and california codes. >> it probably dnlt affect this that much however process that drone impacts that helicopter it quite potentially would cause it to crash. >> reporter: luckily that didn't happen. there were 150 crew members on scene to fight the blaze. along with helicopter drops of fire retardant. the fire was headed straight toward the winery. >> the shelt ner place is ee roernz don't need people to do that but we do have -- it's a narrow road we had a lot of trucks here initially with heavy equipment
