i'm cheryl jennings. every week we focus on a different topic affecting people who live and work in the bay area. today's show is a rising form of abuse, digital abuse, it's called sexting. a recent report recently released by the associated press and mtv suggests more than a quarter of teens and young adults admit to sharing sexually explicit photos, videos and conversations on their cell phones or on-line. according to the study almost half of sexually active young people report being involved in sexting. three in ten young people report having been involved in some type of naked texting. 29% of those who sent texts report sending them to people they only know on-line and have never met in person. nearly one in five sexed recipients report they have passed those images along to somebody else. more than half of those who pass images along say they shared them with more than one person. now, in a recent report, a think before you post campaign aimed to raise awareness about the long lasting effects of sex

i'm cheryl jennings.ng about the critical importance of being involved in the election process. with me is karen cropton, the league of women voters in san francisco. >> it's extremely important to vote. obviously when the founding fathers created the united states and thomas jefferson penned the declaration of independence and we established the right to vote for certain property rights, men, the women did not get to vote in the united states until 1920. >> and i don't think people remember that. and we have some amazing pictures from that time that we wanna show people just to let them know how people had to fight for this. so talk a little bit about that. >> well, there were tremendous, there was a tremendous movement after 1865 when the freed african american slaves received the vote. but only the black men received the vote. women had to fight from 1865 up until 1920. and there were marches, hunger strikes. women were arrested, placed in prison, force fed. there was some violence. >> it's hard to ima
