ooich cheryl jennings. today's show is about preventing suicide. a serious public health problem that devastates the lives of friends, families and entire communities. the centers for disease control and prevention says that from 1999 to 2010, the suicide rate among adults jumped by nearly 30% to more than 38,000. making it the tenth leading cause of death for americans. one possible reason according to the cdc may be the economic downturn over the past decade. the report also finds that men are far more likely than women to take their own lives. while our first guest today is joining us from the american foundation for sued prevention, janice doudsy a volunteer board member of the greater san francisco chapter, and janice, thank you for being here today. >> thank you for having me. >> i want to talk about the reason you joined the foundation is very, very personal. you had a daughter named amanda. >> right. in 2004 our daughter, at age 18, died by suicide. she had been diagnosed at the age of 10 with clinical depression, which is a chemical imbala

i'm matt keller in for cheryl jennings. >> and i'm kristen zee. so let's begin with our mysterious google barge. today the future floating technology showroom moved from treasure island to its new digs 80 miles away at the port of stockton. abc 7 news report er katie marzullo is live at treasure island. trrpt was parked here at the end of this pier on treasure island for the last several months, but it took off early this morning headed for its new home in stockton. that's about 80 miles east on the sacramento san joaquin river delta. and as you mentioned, sky 7 hd live over the barge right now. it just arrived at its new home about 20 minutes ago. this is because the san francisco bay conservation and development commission gave orders on january 31st that the barge had 35 days to leave treasure island because treasure island doesn't have the proper building permits. google confirmed this week the barge was headed to stockton. sky 7 hd caught up with the barge on its journey this morning. it was at the antioch bridge right around 8:30. meanwhile,
