chester county near the turnpike has been getting hit. remember this is up at the turnpike and now some of it is down further to the south. it is starting to move and closer into philadelphia itself. it's coming in and at the parkway at grant avenue in the northeast. that's the line that separates montgomery count fre northeast philly right here. the other area of rain that, is moving north of the turnpike out at chester county. that is good news because of the most flooded areas are over to the east. this will be moving up and away from the worst of the flooding. let's even it out a little bit. you don't want one area to get pounded and others get nothing. that's where you end up with troubles. showers with some of them heavy. humid and more showers may be developing and more showers tomorrow morning. afternoon rush, going to be a fairly wet day. less wet on wednesday. a little cooler. then we really start to get pounded on thursday and friday. it's just in the middle of the country. that looks like it may move out and give us another ni

tracy. >>> we continue to follow breaking news in chester county. in the past 15 minutes crew just left the scene of a house fire in highland. nbc10's jesse gary is on the scene in the last hour or so. jesse, what can you tell us? >> reporter: tracy, we moved closer so we can bet a better scene, better look at the damage. crews are still on the scene. let me move out of the way. this is the height right here in highland township. this started at 3:30 this morning. the investigators thinking the possibility is a lightning strike. this is a two-story home at the time of the fire was abandoned at least. that's what fire officials believe. there are no injuries accorded with this. but they believe this is due to a lightning strike. we have some pictures to show you at the time of the fire. this is in a remote area, crews had to use an aerial attack to spray it down on the structure because it was impossible to pull lines through the dense brush in the property. this is pete mango, he's with the keystone valley fire department. >> actually, there's no dr

delaware county, philadelphia county, interior sections of south jersey also north and west lancaster, chester county as well as berks and montgomery counties. ultimate doppler showing you the rainfall. you can see light to moderate rain all of delaware, sections of south jersey looking at some of that light rainfall, but as we zoom in a little closer right now, in particular toward sections of south central chester, moving toward eastern sections of lancaster county, where you see the yellow and/or ranch, that's some heavy rainfall. rainfall rates could approach an inch per hour with some of these pockets of showers moving across the area. but take lock at the moi moisture moving maryland. that will continue to impact our area throughout the remainder of the evening. gloom mow conditions across our area as we have the humidity, muggy conditions, that flash flood watch in effect, heavy rain at times this evening. so just keep the rain gear han handy. also, look at the forecast for tomorrow morning. fog, that will be a concern for the commute as well as scattered showers. find out what to expec

i'll start in chester county. that's a pretty decent thunderstorm with heavy downpours. as i start this in motion, it's just taking forever to pass any given area. this is only moving at about 10 miles per hour, maybe 15 so you get caught under this heavy stuff right now in southern chester county and it's liable to be there for awhile in areas south of oxford and including oxford heading up towards chatham and kale and mushroom country about to get some of that. there you see coatesville picking up some of this. not as much thunder in the northern tier. that's still heavy rain. the farther north we go once that movement gets out of the way and we can go ahead and show you that reading is also starting to pick up some of the light stuff. looks like the airport is just about half covered and all of this is on the way. if you are over toward philadelphia it is possible that some of this circulates in from the west and i'll leave you with that wide view. not a whole lot else happening. a couple real small clusters in south jersey that might grow into something more and of c
