you can see that big batch of shower activity now pushing into southern chester county. he same time a couple of lighter showers departing up around allentown and through parts of burlington county. we will go in tighter here, though, and show you what's going on down there in chester county. does look like oxford is about ready to get something. newark delaware about ready to pick up a sprinkle and this is the first batch of steadier rain we'll see during the morning rush hour and it is pretty quickly on the way into areas like southern chester county and perhaps northern new castle county, delaware. i can certainly see wilmington getting caught with that. there's that wide view. as we take a look outside we've got sky6 fairly cloudy over the ben franklin bridge. we may get some sunny breaks this morning and through the day but overall we're looking at generally cloudy skies and there is a mugginess to the air and of course we've got that spotty shower and even a thunderstorm passing through just about any time up through dinnertime or so. 73 degrees currently in philade

those are light showers just moving into chester county right now.ne coming in from the southwest. can you see more between baltimore and d.c. clouds have broken between atlantic city and cape may. i think this line of clouds will move across south jersey and delaware. there's a chance of scattered showers along the coastline. can you see the clouds thinning out. there's still some clouds in central pennsylvania but no rain with those clouds. the rain threat moves out and the temperatures will be moving up. the forecast, a ten-day on 10 looks like 84 degrees, less humid, skies will clear out this afternoon. a beautiful day ahead. even nicer weather to come. 81 tomorrow. that's after a morning low of 64 degrees. the mornings will get cooler, dryer air. look at those afternoons coming in into the upper 70s. the dry air in the morning allows the temperatures to cool down. then we peak in the 70s on sunday and monday, a gorgeous weekend ahead. the ten day on 10 shows clouds continuing. we'll see afternoon temperatures in the middle 70s for tuesday. then

we have other storms in chester county. the ones in the lehigh valley have really weakened quite a bit. the colors not as bright. this one also in burlington county and ocean county was extremely heavy. just a half hour ago. so some of these places will be getting tremendous rain. just this afternoon, in chester county, 3. just east of chester, about 2. the lehigh value e low, 3.3. so you can see that some of these places have seen a lot of rain. there have also been a lot of reports of hail. each one of these symbols is a hail report. i picked some of the biggest repor reports, there's 1-inch hail. that hurts if it hits you. another report in the lehigh valley and more close to 1 inch hail. things are quieting down now. meteorologist krystal klei will let you know what's going to be going on from here on out. >> it's good news as we look forward to the weekend. let's track it out with our future model here. moving a little cay yachtically means it's moving innen different directions. they are in south jersey and they are go

roar police in chester county say this is a case that shows how dangerous drug traffickers can be. >cops say the alleged dealer hatched an elaborate murder for cell in chester county but it- all started with a routine traffic stop for 29-year-old christopher piccard of state college. >> the defendant was pulled over and stopped and found with 813 baggies of heroin. mid level heroin dealer. >> pickard was arrested for possession of heroin a passenger in his car you. no pickard was taken at the prison. >> while he was sitting in prison, he decided that the passenger must have been cooperating against him with the police. >> reporter: and this happened next. >> we got a tip from inside the prison that the defendant was looking to hire a hit man to kill the victim. >> reporter: cops then used an undercover to pose as a potential hit man. piccard allegedly used his girlfriend in the plot. the defendant got his girlfriend involved. they supplied photos of the victim. they supplied the location of the victim. they supplied the best time to kilt victim. >> reporter: cops say 27 year latrice

of this system from parts of bucks county montgomery county berks county, a large portion of chester county and lancaster county. this means any storm in addition to to the heavy downpours and the lightning can contain wind gusts up to 70 miles per hour and even some large hail. so, we zoom in on this one part of the storm i'm watching and you can actually see a little bit of a bowing out. what this is is bow echo. it means there's rushing winds moving in behind that system so that line that's moving just south of pottstown likely does have some damaging winds and we could flip this over and we can show you just how intense the rain is as well. the rainfall rate right now right around pottstown right across 422, more than 3.5-inches of rain an hour so these are blinding downpours. be very careful. we likely will see some flash flooding with this. as we extend further down to the south also that line moving through honey brook heading towards west chester within the next 15 minutes. we have a severe thunderstorm watch posted until 9 o'clock for our entire viewing area. that line likely hitti

the gunfire erupted at a gas station in chester delaware county. ion news" reporter jeanette reyes is live for us now at chester police with details on what happened here. good morning, jeanette. >> reporter: good morning, tam. as you mentioned there, this young man was just pumping gas and now he is in the fight of his life after being shot multiple times. take a look at this video here of the scene. police arrived to find the driver's side door still ajar and two gunshots in the front windshield with the back window completely shattered. police on scene say the barrage of gunshots began around midnight at the sunoco a plus at the intersection of edgemont avenue and east 22nd street in chester. the man in his 20's was that rushed to crozer-chester hospital in very critical condition. investigators spoke with witnesses at the scene and were also checking to see if any surveillance camera captured the moment those gunshots went off. no word this morning on a suspect or a motive but the investigation continues. we'll let you know as soon as we get an

police implored the public to help locate the man who shot and killed a woman in chester county. >> reporter: he has been denied bail and remains in prison. he has a preliminary hearing in west chester and we'll be in the courtroom. he was arrested in the road rage incident in the death of 18-year-old who graduated from high school in westtown and bound for jacksonville university in florida. she left the mall june 28th after shopping for college clothes with her mother and grandmother. she was traveling southbound on route 1 when investigator say she was trying to merge into the same lane. they were jockeying or position when he pull out a gun and shot her in the head. she died instantly. police and county officials launch a search and within less than a week with the help of the public, he was charged. today his preliminary hearing is scheduled. it had been scheduled and postponed until today. we saw some of that in chester county and northern newcastle county, gloucester county. this was from last night and today, in parts of philadelphia. burlington county. just scattered all over the  place. and we had damage reports and hail reports all over the place. many of them were around the philadelphia area, including quarter size hail. some trees down, you saw some of those pictures. up in the lehigh valley, you had that as well. this is the new line that's approaching harrisburg. and it could be into our area in a couple of hours, in the middle of the night, but gone by the morning rush. then we're left with the heat and humidity building up tomorrow. we're not going to have the trigger that we had today. and so i think the storms will develop later. there won't be as many of them. but there will be some of them scattered around and you can get downpours with any one of those storms. there they are into the afternoon. you notice this jersey shore, southern delaware, are dry in this pattern. and then on friday, we start off dry again. the best chance of any show
