today there are about 50 cities in the world that are the main competitor and economic drivers. chicago is one of them. to seize the next decade for the people of the city of chicago for greater job growth and economic opportunity, we, too, have to have a business strategy. and growing our export part of our economy is essential. and making sure that the manufacturers that are in chicago can stay there and grow there means i got to give them better infrastructure, i got to give them better skilled workers to pull, from and i've got to give them greater markets to go seize. we are now putting in place the strategy to move up from tenth to where we belong on that list of american cities with an export-driven economy. it has worked for boeing. and i'm happy because boeing is based in chicago. it has worked for caterpillar, an illinois-based company. it has worked for john deere, another illinois-based company. lit now be our strategy to make it work for all the manufacturers, the 100,000 that have 500 or less employees in the chicago area and now have an export strategy that's beyond eithe

you're taking to the skies, airport delays are possible in los angeles, san francisco, salt lake city and chicagoright. here we go again with this story. a jetblue flight had to make an emergency landing in suburban new york city last night after at least one bird smashed into the plane's windshield. you can see the remnants there. after takeoff, the pilot radioed he had pit two big geese. >> the plane returned safely to the westchester county airport. passengers boarded another flight to west palm beach. no one onboard was hurt. a delta flight was forced to land after a bird strike last thursday. this wasn't technically a bird strike since the birds didn't go into the engine. >>> other news this morning. an amber alert has been issued for a 5-year-old heart patient whose father drove him away from a hospital in st. louis. parter stone is awaiting a heart transplant. he was released from st. louis children's hospital yesterday. that's when his father who is separated from porter's mother drove off with the child. >>> police in tucson are wrapping up their search for a little girl who went missing
