chicago police are questioning at least two people about a drive-by shooting that killed a teenager in rogers park. 16 year-old keno glass was shot at ashland and jonquil terrace early yesterday morning. police say the gunfire came from a gray, mini-van. they chased the vehicle, and eventually stopped it at sheridan and touhy. the f-b-i says a man suspected in six bank robberies in chicago over the past month was arrested on the near north side, shortly after hitting his last bank in the loop. the arrest was captured on cell phone video. the man, believed to be the "benchwarmer bandit", was caught near chicago and wabash ... just after a fifth third bank on dearborn was robbed yesterday afternoon. a priest is returning to his church in lakeview after he was investigated for sexual abuse. someone accused the reverend michael o'connell of sexual misconduct in the late 19-90's. but the cook county sheriff's department investigated and announced it couldn't support any charges. a review board then recommended that o'connell be reinstated. patronage hiring at metra goes back three decades,

chicago after nine o'clock. taking a look at the *other top stories this morning. police in park forest have issued a community alert after several teenaged girls were harassed by a man carrying a knife. four incidents have been reported, and police say the same man may be responsible for the attacks. each girl was walking alone at the time. the most recent incident happened when a 13-year-old girl was walking to forest trail middle school. police say some of the victims were groped, robbed or threatened with a knife. a park forest police officer is free on bond after he was charged in the death of a 95 year old man. officer craig taylor shot john wrana with five beanbag rounds, at close range, while trying to subdue him last july. wrana was threatening officers with a knife at the time and died of internal bleeding several hours later. prosecutors say taylor used unnecessary force to subdue him. bail was denied for a man charged with sexually assaulting a u-i-c student in a shower at her dorm, as new information comes out about the attack. prosecutors say tavares humphri

chicago police issued a community alert after a man tried to solicit sex from a 14- year-old boy. it happened in the 49-hundred block of west fullerton, around nine monday night. police say the boy was walking, when a man came up to him and asked for sexual relations. the boy was able to run away. a church employee in cicero is jailed on more than two million dollars bond, after being charged with sexually abusing at least six boys. police say juan ferreras lured boys as young as nine years old to his apartment, then abused them. ferreras worked at sonido de alabanza church on west 25-th street. he is the son of the pastor. the office of congressional ethics is investigating congressman bobby rush. right now we don't know what the congressman is being investigated for. in december, the tribune reported that his wife earned more than 300-thousand dollars as his campaign consultant over the last five years. some campaign money also went to the church rush started. rush's attorney says they'll cooperate with the investigation, but the situation being reviewed doesn't warrant any ethic

dozens of violent crimes are being under-reported by the chicago police department. the city's inspector general's office says the department's numbers are low because it doesn't count every victim. state guidelines say police reports should count victims because sometimes there's more than one incident. but a sample of police reports involving assaults in 2012, revealed some victims were left out because they were counted as one incident. the police department is calling for a review and is blaming former superintendent jody weis for not updating how crimes are counted. federal investigators have concluded, excessive speed contributed to last month's crash of a blue line c-t-a train at o'hare airport. an operator was fired for falling asleep as the train pulled into the terminal. but beyond that, investigators say the bumper post that should have stopped the train didn't leave enough room for a trip switch to activate the train's emergency brakes. the trip switch needed to be moved. the transit workers union adds, the train should be designed to stop automatically b

this morning, chicago's police superintendent said the city needs help. >> we're all tired oift and unfortunately we're going to have the same conversation we've had before. we need help with the gun laws. the national averages for gun violence, we're way above it as far as murder by gunshot goes. so until such time we stem the flow of guns come into the city and people start going to jail for it, we can make progress, which we've made, but we're not going to fix this problem without help from springfield. >> in 2012, there were 500 killings in chicago. that number fell last year. but we have a long way to go. i worked with activists in chicago to bring attention to this issue. after a cold slig winter, we saw a significant drop in homelessness. but now that the weather is getting warmer, we must stay vigilant. we must work to keep the spotlight on them. i grew up with three brothers, so i figured hey, i get it, kids get stains. but we have these three beautiful little girls, and they make us look like amateurs. so i'm living in a world of tiny sweaters and dolphins and weird greasy mystery stain
