it comes as chicago police release new april crime numbers. nancy joins us *live at 81st and cottage grove with more. good morning. the city's latest apparent murder was discovered here are around 2:00 this morning. police are responding to a report of shots fired and a man in his 20s was found shot in the head lying dead on the sidewalk at the corner of 81 and south cottage road. no one is in custody. this investigation is just getting under way in what appears to be the first murder of a first day of may. police were busy investigating other shooting incidents including one uptown which left two men injured. the 23 and 42 year-old man were shot in the leg and arms. they are in stable condition after a gunman opened fire during an argument along west tyler. less than an hour before that, for the men were shot as the walking along south phillips in the south shore neighborhood. all expected to recover. the gunmen took aim from inside a passing car. the rash of deadly violence in the last 24 hours comes as the police department talks about lates
