this morning i hador a webinar with the chicagoland chamber of commerce and we expected about a hundred people in over 500 it did. a small businesses across america are very aware of the public health crisis. this issm going to be a significant hit for a lot of small businesses. we've got to be there to help them. i support a proposal that also is being led by senate colleagues brown, bennett and booker to request direct cash assistance beginning in $2000 be sent to the market families in need. this will be a crucial lifeline in the interim help these families navigate the crisis. i support what schumer said earlier about strengthening these for the families. in a second wave likely to go on to support as well. i don't believe this is a short-lived crisis. we've got to see it through and stand by the workers and their families all the way. and in times of economic crisis, the increase in chapter 11 bankruptcy filings by businesses. too often, these businesses have been able to manipulate the bankruptcycy process to leave te workers hydride we cannot let this happen again. more than ten
