child development center in chinatown where i grew up has been a privilege. i have learned so much from the families and the children and youth. every day has been a pleasure for me. and i've learned very much from the mentors and my colleagues. you know, oftentimes where you'll hear comments about, oh, those city workers, but i have worked with the most dedicated, the most passionate colleagues that you will ever see. they don't go just the extra mile, but they will go the extra 2 to 10 miles for their clients, for the families that we work with every day. so, you know, as supervisor chiu mentioned, i have a very, very active volunteer life. so, i've been telling people that i will be retiring from my day job. and, so, i hope to see many of you, you know, in my volunteer life. thank you so very much for this very great honor. i'm very humbled by it. thank you very, very much. the city reaching south of muscone and the towns and streets underneath union square and through chinatown and now here to north beach. this is a racket mile sown and i want to thank all the people working on the centralized subway project all the laborers and locals and all the labor family of san francisco. mike is here as well the construction trade unions all knocking on wood making sure that is the safety project for all the workers because it is a wonderful project and an expensive one but one that is well worthy san francisco. i can't say enough about the community leader that advocated for this they were able to convinces our leader pelosi and senator financing to get the money with the help of the president obama but it has always been the community leaders and groups working with our city planning and now i see the president of the planning commission we've got more planning to do in the city a with the leadership i'm working with the board we want you to make sure that it would think of the pronlsz the next two years is serious investments road refargz as well as pedestrian safe

as more people know whether it's a walker from the bayview hunters point area or folks from chinatown and admission that diabetes is exploding in san francisco. an it's an on going problem of health that is expanding and increasing over the last 30-40 years. i wanted to point out that map of diabetes hospitalizations quickly. this has been shown from vargas and ucsf that it's the communities of color and low income that are the ones hospitalized for diabetes. you can see the eastern part of the city most heavily impacted. when you look at poverty and low income populations, even more closely to the census tract, you will see it's not just in these areas but where you have low income populations and people of color as well. i wanted to also say that other issues of liver damage as presented by christina and other department of public health folks and other types of health problems are also somewhat hidden. i have another example of health disparity. this is using cavity and oral health which shows that higher rates of cavities and oral and dental problems occur in many similar areas bu

russian hill is bordered by chinatown in van ness areas comprised mostly of renters when we look at the analysis. obviously the benefits of open space are ubiquitous on the entire project. when we think about open space, we have done a number of approval of projects. this is the opportunity to create from concrete and chain link fence a brand new park in our city. these opportunities don't come very often. to me it's a once in a lifetime opportunity. to me it's a collaboration with a working group. we've had numerous working community and involvement of the park. once it was acquired hundreds of people turned up for these community meetings and it was incredibly inspiring at the time. once this gets approved we'll have many of those to get an idea of what this park will finally look like. we've been involved with our city agency given that it's own by the public utilities commission right now. i want to thank kelly and juliette and scott harrington about what it would take. it's been a long long road and countless hours of work inside of city hall not to mention what's been done outside
