i'm david chiu. you're city attorney and as a chinese elected official. i'm very grateful for all of the folks who have come together for this as it was mentioned. this is an event that happens every year. i've been coming for the better part of the last 15 years, and the one thing i will observe about it is every couple of years. crime continues to evolve 15 years ago, we're here talking about extortion. and then we were talking a few years later about blessing scams, and they were talking about car break ins recently. we've been talking about how financial information gets stolen when folks are tricked either through a phone call or email or through wechat message into giving up information. and of course, we all know about all the anti asian violence that has occurred in recent years. the fact of the matter is crime is always been with us. but what we need to do is to stay vigilant. we need to make sure that everyone is looking out at every moment. being careful looking out for your neighbors looking out for your friends and yourself, whether it be on
