and now the chp and the community are rallying around this team. let's bring in nbc's velena jones, who joins us from the oakland boys and girls club with the details. velena well, raj, as you can imagine, you know, when i spoke to this coach, coach larry ward, he says the kids after this june event were obviously shaken up from all of this. now they are seeing a different side of law enforcement in this community. donation drive. now you can see this donation drive started about 430. the kids are still here tonight hanging out with law enforcement officers, playing games. their parents are also here. and you know this donation started around again 430 and the donations were given to these individuals from the football team. all of this started from a june event where chp officers had an event where they were following after a suspect and the suspect was wanted for a stolen vehicle, and then jumped into coach larry ward's car. this is when officers found that suspect. now they ultimately detained all of the people involved, including the coach, the

i just got an update from the chp.y estimate this flatbed truck that crashed and overturned at 5:00 this morning was probably carrying between 35 to 40,000 pounds of sod and it spilled out onto the westbound lanes of highway 24, just about a quarter mile outside the caldecott tunnel. since that happened, these lanes in the westbound direction have been completely shut down. and that's why you see all the traffic that would normally come through the caldecott being funneled to highway 13 northbound into the berkeley hills at tunnel road. let's show you the view overhead so you can see the traffic mess and the mess on the freeway. skyfox over the scene, giving us that view. we actually don't have the chopper, but we can show you here on the ground the mess you can see for yourself. it's going to take a little longer. according to caltrans and the chp to get this all cleaned up. the officer out here said that they have to get this cleaned up and swept, not just moving all the sod and dirt out of the way, but completely cl
