>> well, chris, i think we have a very strong case.s i said, in the past 15 years, the supreme court has scaled back congress when they've tried to inject themselves into purely state matters and using the commerce clause. a perfect example was the morrison case with the violence, the violence against women act. another case was lopez, where they tried to criminalize purely state behavior within a state. so this over the past 15 years, the supreme court has scaled back and said to congress, when you try and go after activity that doesn't cross state lines and when you try to go after activity such as here, which is inactivity, here the federal government is punishing people for not buying a product. they're punishing them for not getting into interstate commerce and that has never happened before. >> well, they punished people in the civil rights act under public accommodations in 1964, for not selling to an african-american who comes to a hotel and says i want a room. so there you have them punishing a hotel owner or restaurant owner

chris, let's get your reaction to the ifo data and the euro zone pmi data. >> both surveys showing a similar thing, stronger than analysts were expecting. but what you have to put this in context with is it was january and february with adverse weather that hit us. so you're seeing a bounceback. it was far more normal in terms of weather conditions in the last four weeks. so where was up the ward with momentum being hit in february? so that's where they are. manufacturing and export-led trade is booming. >> exports is a really good key word here, because even though we had a very big strength in exports, the latest data we saw was about one year, the one year in february. how does that come about? is that only based on the weather and we expect that will change? >> we expect so. official trade figures, export figures in february and january and we think that's the weather disrupting the actual deliveries. but underlying orders are strong and gathering momentum. >> julian, how close do you follow the euro zone daent data at the moment? >> yeah. i mean, i would agree with chris, it's q

chris is our closer to home friend. he is at the "washington post" newsroom where he works. gentlemen, take a look at the latest poll. it's got governor perry, the incumbent, at 40. not quite 50% in this poll. needed for avoiding a runoff. kay bailey hutchison looked very strong going into this race down in 31%. debra medina, to the right of both of the gentlemen. i want to go to the home state guy, wayne. what do you make of this race? tell us in terms of which way this country is going? >> the tea party movement, this anti-washington sentiment, so strong. i was in suburban dallas a couple of days ago with congressman mike burgess, conservative republican, and he said if he wasn't the representative from that district, he would probably be leading the charge against the representative from that district. so this is really tough stuff. rick perry has taken the anti-washington fervor, has tried to seize on the tea party movement and has framed the race against kay bailey hutchison in a very successful way. and he could go without a runoff win tomorrow without a runoff. >> so

[laughter] in fairness, i think it was happening was that members on the left were getting very nervous about what was going happen. i think that what c

chris gordon is live with the details. chris? >> this has been a tragedy for an entire community. today there were tears from the families of the victims and tears from the family of the young man who was taking responsibility for causing the eight deaths. this is onef the last pictures taken of -year-old darren bullock as a free man. now he's in custody beginning a 15-year prison sentence. his family and friends cried and tried to comfort each other outside the prince george's county court husband. bullock pleaded guilty to causing eight deaths at the street races just over two years ago. it's estimated that 200 people or more were standing in the street after watching a previous race when bullock's car plowed into a crowd. after bullock was sentenced, his family spoke. >> we are sorry for the families that have lost loved ones. but we also have lost. he's never been in trouble like this before. >> reporter: gregory was seriously injured in the accident and still suffers. >> i have talked to mrs. bullock. >> what did you tell him? >> i know in his heart everything is going to be
