about this tension back in 2012 chris, i thought it was earlier and recent than that. 2012, what mayor pete was saying i think is not that he's trying to appropriate the blackaims some sort of equal victim hood. what he was saying is that as a gay person who faces discrimination, he can understand the discrimination and the way african-americans feel. he's not trying to say i am a victim like you are. what he's trying to say is i understand where you're coming from and i have an affinity and i want to help and i can hear you. i can see you. that's all i can boil it down to. what he has to understand is he's got to be for someone who is nuance as he is, he needs to learn how to be more nuance when talking about his being gay and trying to construct a bridge over the african-american community. he faced a lot of criticisms earlier, late last month when a memo came out from his campaign where focus groups of african-americans and the big news that came out was a lot of people in those groups had a problem of him being guy. when you read the memo and the entirety of the memo of what comes through is one, that folks did not know him and once they learn more abou
