chris crane of the i.c.e. officers wrote a letter last may, warning that we were seeing a surge of young people. morton issued another memo, and it goes on. as i said, 39 pages, multiple actions on some of those pages that were taken by the president's staff underlings that undermined and weakened the ability of our immigration law to be carried out effectively, consistently and fairly. it's just a terrible, terrible thing. and now we have this crisis today. according to a new report from the "los angeles times," which probably i have to say is one of the more knowledgeable papers, if not the most knowledgeable paper in america concerning immigration issues. they issued a report that deportation of illegal immigrant youth has fallen dramatically under the current administration, even as the flow of illegal use in the united states has exponentially increased. the paper writes this weekend, just this weekend they wrote this -- quote -- "president obama and his aides have repeatedly sought to dispel the rumors d

unaccompanied minors come into the united states and that number was predicted more than six months ago by chris crane, the president of the i.c.e. unit, who said, we're going to see more than 50,000, i believe the number he gave was actually 60,000, unaccompanied minors companying -- coming into the united states in the next year. we've crosseded 50,000 and that number in july, august and september and that number is increasing, we think in the next fiscal year will be 120,000, not this 50,000. and the unaccompanied minors, kids under the age of 18, these unaccompanied minors represent 20% of the illegal aliens that are coming into america. and those are the ones that we catch. and that's 100,000. perhaps that number approaching 120,000. if they catch, it's a number bigger than that. we have a number that goes to 300,000 criminal aliens to be interdicted in this fiscal year and i think that number will go higher. that is one of those snapshot estimates. i predict, 600,000. this president has refused to send people back. if you are able to set a foot in the united states, get into america, get into th

i haerken back to the testimony, of chris crane, head of the i.c.e.o said this, about border enforcement. keep in mind, this is well over a year ago. >> as our officers are investigated by i.c.e., for enforcing u.s. immigration law, as they see other officers threatened with suspensions for making lawful arrests, increasing the officers who feel they have become the enemy of this administration, which certainly is not a healthy sign for any law enforcement organization. >> charles, have things improved since he said that? >> i think everybody here is missing the point, especially the president. when he talks about this supplemental $3.7 billion. if you look at it, as shelby indicated, this is almost entirely money that will be spent to absorb the refugees, or the illegal immigrants, if you like. this is going to do absolutely nothing to either reverse the influx, or to prevent further influx. you can get all the judges you want. these kids are not going to show up at the deportation hearings. everybody understands that. the problem is the 2008 law whi

in may of last year, 2013, chris crane, director of the ice officers' union, wrote a letter and he warned about the increasing number of young people coming in as a result of the president's unilateral imposition of a rule to block enforcement of immigration law with regard to young people. and in october of 2013 last year, the numbers were already beginning to surge. that was obvious. in january of this year, the department of homeland security laid out proposals for bids for a contract to private companies who would handle as many as 65,000 young people coming into the country unlawfully. so in january they were well aware of what was happening. was any action taken in may of last year or october of last year or january of last year to confront honestly what it was that was causing such an increase of immigration from our latin american countries and central america primarily? the answer is "no" so now what we have is an emergency demand for $2 billion to deal with the crisis. it's just a sad event really. i wish it hasn't happened. but you can't play games with law enforcement. i spent
