the trial has now been delayed. "20/20" co-anchor, chris cuomo, has been following the details. you have the latest on this. the twists and turns with this, chris. >> this is a tough one, robin. we said last week, this would not be an easy case to make and it just got harder. this is a prosecution that rests very heavily on the testimony of the woman accused of this crime. and that story that she's going to tell just got complicated. imagine having three different attempts on your life in just three months. that was the terror yvonne stern survived, barely. the first went through her window. the second -- and this is? >> it's where the bullet hit the floor and ricochetted on the opposite wall. >> reporter: so, it literally hit a foot from where you were standing? >> yes. >> reporter: the third time, yvonne stern was in her parked suv, when a gunman ran up on her and shot her in the stomach. and yet, the worst pain was yet to come, when lying in the hospital, yvonne was told her husband of 20 years, jeffrey, was having an affair, with 39-year-old michelle gaiser. and it was gaiser

and prosecutors have charged her husband with orchestrating the murder plot.
