. >> reporter: we learned quite a bit from chris gray, the from the army division, the lead agency directingtigation. they confirmed that ivan lopez was the lone shoot earn told us for the first time the three people killed were killed in three separate buildings here on post wednesday afternoon. they also confirm the shooting began with a verbal altercation between lopez and a supervisor over a quest for leave. he had gone into an hr office seeking a form to request a leave of absence, apparently was denied the form, told to come back the next day and that set him off according to investigators. he left, came back with a weapon and fired rounds in that one building killing one and wounding ten others. a soldier who was killed in that first building was involved in the verbal altercation. lopez then got in his vehicle and drove slowly across the base and fired his weapon while he was driving on the wrong side of the street, fire at two soldiers standing outside, wounded one of them. and then turned into a second building where he was actually assigned and worked. he went in that building, sh
