joining me democratic strategist chris hahn, brad blakeman, fox news contributor, and former deputy assistantpresident george w. bush. chris i have to admit, government is looking pretty good the last couple days here. i don't know. do you think it is having impact on voters out there? >> look, it is hard to argue that fema is not necessary. also hard to argue that fema performs much better under a democratic president than it did under republican president. melissa: you made a jump from that one. >> look, bottom line the republican platform this entire summer, government bad, government bad, government bad. melissa: right. >> if you look paul ryan budget, it desmates fema. we need fema to coordinate between the states. that's why we got rid of articles of confederation and replaced it with the constitution. so one central government could help states work out in situations like this and we're showing that it work. >> brad, i don't know maybe it is time to make the distinction government isn't necessarily bad, it is bad at a lot of different things. this is one of the thing it is good at, nat

i mean the narrative, let me start with you on this chris hahn. the narrative that is emerging here is that counterterrorism folks were kept out, they felt cut out of what happened on the night and felt cut out there after. that more and more the cia knew that it was ansar al-sharia, a terrorist group. there were warnings they shouldn't even go to the hospital where they thought ambassador was being held and might be aeu lived because they believe ansar al-sharia might be outside of the hospital and there was a question about whether we could go there. the point is ansar al-sharia was written all over it and it's written all over it now and that is a terrorist group and yet the administration was talking about a video and talking about spontaneous mob violence. >> look, i think mistakes were made. i think that the administration is going to have to come up with a clear case of what actually happened there, but i think in this highly partisan environment right now no one believes what anybody says right now on either side. right now if you're a rep

. >> megyn: joining me is christopher hahn, and chris plant.resident obama is going to be great uniter. there are no red states or blue states, not going to demonize opponents -- against whom are the american people going to get revenge when they go to the polling booth? >> you know he was saying, you don't have to boo mitt romney's lies and mistruths. go out and vote the i have been on campaigns for hundred years. that has been said hundred thousand times by many candidates. many, many times. on both sides of the aisle. democrats work with republicans because our ideology is not all religion. we are flexible. we can compromise. we can govern. the republicans are not ideologues they are theologues on their belief. you really can't compromise with someone in religion. that is how they take their approach to governing. that is the problem in washington. mitt romney is going to owe cameron crow some royalties because he will say anything to get elected. i think it's time for the american people to understand that. >> megyn: he will say anything? >
