former prison officers for misconduct in a public office and physical assaults. 0ur correspondent chris jacksoneen following the trial. this was a detention centre with a history of abuse allegations. its true scale only emerged when police in the north—east re—opened their inquiries into medomsley near consett in 2013. some of the boys would lay on the bottom of stairs and ask other boys to jump off the stairs and jump on to their legs so they could break their legs so they could be removed. dave stoker was 17 when he was sent to medomsley for theft. dave ended up working in the prison kitchens, they were run by this man, neville husband, a violent sexual predator. he took me upstairs and he told me to take me clothes off and sit on the bed. and he told us, he says if this gets out, he said he would make me life hell. i was just frightened to tell anybody, because i didn't think anybody would... husband, who has since died, was convicted of nine rapes and served five years in jail. the police now say he abused more than 300 teenage inmates. i felt dirty and ashamed of myself and as i say, i ha
