joining me from nashville is msnbc's senior correspondent chris jansing. we've seen you all week talking to women down there in tennessee. is it the women's vote that's most important? >> reporter: that's number one. the reason, of course, as we've been talking about all week, in these suburbs, about 30 miles south of nashville, women voters have been breaking heavily for the democrat phil bredesen. you can see some folks lined up there. they're getting signed in, and then they're going to come over here and vote. without a doubt, bredesen has been looking for the woman's vote. as we've been talking to women all throughout the week, it's been the tone of the campaign. they're not used to competitive campaigns here, first of all. they're not used to having a hundred voters an hour, which is what they're seeing here. same thing we saw, record-breaking numbers at the other two polling places in nashville earlier today. in fact, we talked to the secretary of state who told me that the early voting here was just 50,000 away from the total, the total vote from 2
