. >>> meantime, if you target our deputies, prepare to meet deadly force. county sheriff chris knocko tonight. this comes after someone tried to set a deputy's home on fire. candace mccowan is live with the story. was anyone hurt candace? >> reporter: good evening. thankfully, no one was injured. that deputy, though, was inside with his family including young children at the time. and that is the reason that sheriff chris is sending a strong message to anyone who threatens law enforcement. >> he goes i'm going out to get arrested. >> reporter: 30-year-old daniel thomas hall was looking for trouble when he left his hudson home this morning. he is accused of breaking into cars before spotting this deputy's take home vehicle in a home. >> he has a lighter and he keeps trying to light all the furniture on fire. as he lights it on fire, he knocks on the deputy's door. been with the department since 2007. he was in his home with his family with his gun drawn. backup arriving minutes later finding hall on the deputy's lawn. >> we are blessed. thank god that deputy lennox is safe. his family
