i'm chris nguyen. the flu is not letting up.der the age of 65 died from the flu in the first week of february. that's more than any other week this season. this compares to 23 deaths the week of january 14th through the 20th. and 30 deaths during the last week of january. that's seven more deaths from the week before. >>> oakland coliseum dmv office damaged by flooding will stay closed another week. thieves stole about 40 feet of copper tubing from the roof causing water to cascade through the ceiling overnight on wednesday. the damage flooded the office and it has been closed ever since. the dmv expects to reopen the office on money february 19th. the highway patrol is looking for the thief who caused the damage. >>> happening today, burlingame is holding the muddy milon obstacle race. it is open to kids from 5 to 14 years old of it is eun mile lon and certainly lives up to its name featuring a lot of mud. there are 13 obstacles to test balance, strength and courage. it costs $30 per child and is limited to 300 participants. >>

i'm chris nguyen. let's start with a first look at the weather. here's meteorlogist lisa argen. hi lisa. >> hi chris. good morning to you. big changes for the weekend. today will be much much warmer. live doppler 7 looking at the clear sky with the cool start. 37 in half moon bay. 44 in hey wad. 37 in morgan hill. two to six degrees milder this morning. that translates into above average temperatures today. in fact by noontime we are in the upper 50s to low to mid 60s in the bay. and inland upper 60s today. above average numbers. perhaps low 70s down towards the santa clara valley. then the clouds

i'm chris nguyen. we are off to a sunny start across the bay area. conditions where you live. >> good morning to you. nice and sunny everywhere. mild for some. as we look live outside you will notice from the sutro tower camera it is beautiful in san francisco at 56. 54 in oakland. we have been in the 60s on the peninsula. also at the coast. yeah it's kind of a beach day out there. and right now no wind at all here at the surface it's cool in the north bay with low to mid 40s and low 50s in livermore. while we have a warmer day from the peninsula to the south bay and the coast in the north bay it's chillier. look at the winds. 23 miles per hour in oakland hills. half moon bay, 30 miles an hour and wind off shore at 30 miles an hour. mid 70s around the bay by 4:00. yes, that's record warmth once again. we will talk about the second half of the weekend, and the look ahead in a few minutes, chris. >> lisa, thank. >>> the controversial memo from republicans in congress remains a hot topic this moorng. it accuses officials in the fbi and the department of
