ambassador to libya, chris stephens, justice reporter evan perez, at the district courthouse in washington. what is next for khattala? >> reporter: we expect within the next few months several hearings here at this courthouse in downtown washington just across from the u.s. capitol. this morning as khattala was brought in, if he was sitting up he probably could have seen a view of the capitol where his role in the benghazi attacks would have, has been the center of a lot of controversy. we expect that today later today there will be a court hearing where he'll be read the charges that he's facing. he was captured just over two weeks ago and has been held on a u.s. navy ship. the "uss new york." they traveled across the atlantic ocean, and then he was brought on to u.s. soil to bring, to face charges here today. . >> so give us an idea. we see the black suvs. give us an idea of security for khattala now and moving forward? >> reporter: a heavy police presence. there was police from not only from d.c. police, fbi, homeland security, u.s. marshals were here. a very police presence. a helicopt

chris cato, "nbc 10 news." >> los angeles police have one man in custody after a high-speed chase and a four-hour standoff. police say nolan perez is being charged with criminal threats and stalking. last night's incident started when police tried to arrest perez on a warrant. he took off on a high-speed chase that ended with a barricade situation. perez could face more charges after police say he pointed a rifle at officers during the pursuit. >> to the v.a. scandal. the veterans affairs released results of an audit. the internal audit shows more than 57,000 vets have been waiting at least three months for appointment. 64,000 never got appointments. the report found 13% of hospital staff said they had been told to change patient appointment times to meet performance goals. the audit found the philadelphia facility had the most new enrollees waiting 60 days or more for an appointment. only 94% of all appointments were scheduled in under 30 days. the audit found several centers in pennsylvania will require additional reviews, philadelphia included. in delaware the v.a. center in wilmington will be looked at more closely and in ne
