wow, chris stirewalt is host of "power play." chris, the thing that is so striking about it, we talked many times about how on the generic ballot, the republicans have been disadvantaged for many months. and now what a reversal to see in the overall, they have an advantage and with the critical independents they have a significant advantage, what do you make of it? >> well, the republicans are disadvantaged in the generic ballot historically, for decades, this is a majority democrat country. when people become ready, and remember, this is just registered voters, not likely voters. among all registered voters, you find a general preference for republicans. if you get there in a majority democrat country what you find out is there is a serious systemic problem. and you find the contours of the wave of election shaping up for 2014, that is why you have republicans like ed gillespie, against others like ed warner in what was thought to be a safe seat. that is when the money comes in and people start to think bigger. >> you know, this

chris stirewalt. thanks so much. have a great week. >>> the obama administration says its health care website should now work for the vast majority, there's that word again, of americans. there are still plenty of errors being reported. like peter dfound out. what did you find out? >> a lot more problems to healthcare.gov than on amazon, gretchen. all morning long healthcare.gov is having major issues. they appear to be the result of high volume. the administration said this week, as you know, 50,000 users are supposed to be able to simultaneously shop at healthcare.gov. mo most of my attempts to log in or apply for coverage today have been met with this notice. there are too many visitors at the website. there is an option to enter an e-mail for a follow up about better times to come back. i first entered my e-mail 11:40 this morning, about 2 1/2 hours ago. still waiting for that note back. take a look at this. just complete gibberish. on the first screen that an interested consumer would see after leaving the home

[laughter] tucker, let me start with you. i thought this or harvard study was fascinating, you know, because this is a group that has always loved the president, gave him tremendous support in both of his elections, and now they seem to be changing their mind a bit. >> well, love is the word. i mean, i think the emotional connection has been powerful, not clear how deeply grounded it was in understanding what policies might turn out to be. the truth is that obamacare only works ifo= it. i mean, this is the payoff to insurance companies that guaranteed their support for the law three years ago which is lots of new customers, hell the people -- healthy sending their money. and so, yeah, massive dropoff, it mirrors his larger poll numbers. the good news for democrats is these are not people who vote in midterm elections anyway, so i'm not sure it's going to to make a huge difference in '14. martha

martha: chris stirewalt, fox news digital politics editor, good morning to you. >> good morning.artha: you know, i mean, this is just the latest shoe to drop, and you can only wonder what the insurers think at this point. i know nobody generally feels too sorry for insurers, but imagine if you ran any kind of business and said just give them the dinner, and can they're going to pay their bill later. >> ah, but remember what's in this law, remember what democrats baked into this banana pie was a provision to allow a bridge loan of a couple billion dollars, a bailout to the insurance industry. so basically what's happening right now is, and we've seen it rolling out in different regulatory phases, but the administration is making ready to say so we shattered the insurance industry, but we have a provision to give them a bailout to get them out of the trouble we put them into. and they're getting ready for that moment probably at some point in the middle of january when the president is basically going to make a decree and say everybody who thought about logging on to healthcare.gov
