thomas. and justin pazera is on scene with the newest information. justin-- >> reporter: chris, i can tell you the coroner's office just arrived on scene. phoenix police telling us the suspect was 25 years old and was lungeing at officers with a sword. he had the sword tied to his wrist of hand. just a very large police presence and this started yesterday around 4:00 in the afternoon when that 25-year- had to call police. she said her own son was acts psychotic. before police got here, the suspect took off and then they realized he had a felony warrant. the mom called police saying that her mom was back at the apartment complex and they showed back up. and they had a standoff with the 25-year-old. they tried to -- when he opened the door they tried to use bean bags to make him surrender. the suspect's mom was watching all of and we talked to a witness who was there. >> she was going, oh, my god, they shot my son, oh, my god. and i said he's dead. he's not moving. >> police are supposed to release the identity of the suspect later today. live in phoenix, justin pazera, abc15. >>
