my name is chris udall. we as pedestrians are a perishable lot. we were bumped off and killed one of the families and the scene out front is is among the scariest pedestrian crossing. some drivers don't actually care as you see from my video. they don't care enough to stay within the bounds of the law. they don't care enough to wait their turn. they don't have to care because no one is paying attention. there is no one on a motorcycle waiting to summon that bad driver. there is no consequence for this behavior. there is no consequence until there is high damage for the behavior until there is injury or death. your response has been something called vision zero, your dream of zero pedestrian death. when i hear this phrase i immediately think of answerer oh vision as in blindness, as in the drivers blindness to the risk they put others to as in your blindness to the facts of our daily lives. when i see this, i see imagination zero and action zero. thank you, mr. president. >>president david chiu: next speaker. >> good afternoon. i'm a staff attorney

this will not come from chris coons, mark udall, or tim johnson. they were seen as gettable but now plan on voting no along with angus kane who was leaning. assuming that they get it to the president's desk is there anyway that this is not a big divisive issue? >> i don't -- i i don't think it will get to the president's desk. this is a pretty divisive issue. it is so emotional for some people on the left that is hard to imagine that the president either vetoes it and gets overridden or if the president somehow sciences that a big part of the democratic party will not be upset. >> the democratic party upset at the president, that is a different song than what we normally hear in washington. harry landrieu and some of the democrats support this. the president is not officially opposed, he is not moved quickly to get it signed into law. it is possible to get it to his desk, possible he will sign it but more likely he will veto it and say, let's wait and see what happens. they can beat the president up but there's no election. >> do you think is bette

udall the race. >>> now back to chris stirewalt. what is it going to come down to? latino vote? they have this new law in colorado with mail-in voting, same-day registration. it's a doozy. >> that is legislature that is very blue. it's supposed to help democrats. >> can you poll correctly? democrats say you can't. but the polling has been heinous for mark udall. it has been bad. and if the polls are accurate, he will lose. >> how did that happen? >> he ran a terrible campaign. when they laugh at a debate and they say you earned the name mark uterus -- >> did they mean it as a compliment? >> i don't know. maybe they did. >> if this was taking place in a movie, this race would be taking place in a gyn office. >> he really did that. >> instead of please vote, it's please slide down. women will understand that. >>> they did it with a candidate by the name of joni ernst. she's become a rising republican star even though she's only a state senator. she's a mother, a soldier, a farmer, and a blue collar worker and enough of a threat to bruce braley that democrats this week sent in one

udall. >>> i think that's where chris' point comes in about ud ooh ll as a candidate.hat maria and i were saying earlier, you have got to turn people on before you can turn them out. you can not expect people to just to rally around you if you're not rallying around issues. and i think that's part of what happened to udall. what is bad about it is it begins to turn the tide nationally because now we're closer to the republicans getting those six seats. but we can no longer just act as though people are just going to do what you assume they're going to do because you just said this is the way the party is going. those games are over with. >> think about, you had fours states that barack obama won in 2008. iowa colorado, virginia and north carolina. right? and those were big victories. that was decisive. >> a canadian pollster once told me it's true in every culture, three ingredients give you a winning candidate -- motive. you know why they're there. you have to always know why they're there. never have to ask. and third, this is where a lot of these candidates fall dow
