we are now joined by senator chris van hollen of maryland. zte you are involved in this. you have sponsored legislation that would restrict the ability -- the president ability -- president's ability to make a deal on this. sen. hollen: this is a bipartisan effort. senator cotten, some to rubio and many others on a bipartisan basis in the senate believe we should keep the original penalties in place on zte. those were announced by the secretary of commerce as you recall back in april and we have had lots of testimony before the congress by leaders of the intelligence zte committees that -- intelligence committees that zte poses a national threat to the american intelligence network. on top of that, zte finally did u.s. sanctions multiple times flagrantly, and tried to cover it up. yesterday, the senate passed the authorization bill which has this provision in it. david: are you confident that your version will prevail? i am confident because there is strong bipartisan support in the senate and when the house appropriations bill voted on this

chris van kleave has more on the shelters. >> reporter: this video gives us a glimpse inside health andervices facility sheltering children who entered the u.s. illegally. it's the first look inside one of these shelters since the trump administration instituted a zero tolerance policy in april that resulted in the separation of children from parents who illegally cross the border with them. the facility is a former walmart in brownsville, texas, not far from the mexican border and now is nearly filled to capacity. the video selectively highlights young kids doing outdoor activities, receiving medical care, even the residential pet dog. it houses just boys, ages 10 to 17. it's called casa padre. it is the largest shelter facility in the u.s. for minors caught illegally crossing the border. the number of boys sheltered here has increased from 1,200 to nearly 1,500. while the majority are kids who arrived at the border unaccompanied, it's estimated about 5% or 70 boys are living here because they were separated from their parents at the border. >> i would cite romans 13 to obey the laws o

chris van cleave is at newark liberty international outside.hris, good morning. >> reporter: good morning. beginning today when you come to the airport check point, you're going to start to hear tsa officers asking you to take larger containers of powder out of your bags, things above 350 milliliters. that's equivalent to a can of coke. and it's going to be just the same way you do your laptop or powders and gels. they want to give that secondary screening so they can look closer at those items. now, the tsa is checking a range of items like powder cosmetics, baby powders, and drink mixes, even protein powder. at this point, passengers will be encouraged but typically not required to pack those item into their checked bags. that's really the preference here. the tsa would like to see you check them. similar to food items, officers may recommend pulling smaller containers of powder out of your bag for separate screening. the new regulations are meant to reduce the chances explosive material or a debilitating agent like pepper spray can get on bo
