the host of fox news sunday chris wallace.ing here. let's start with the news of the day. we learned a short time ago white house social secretary desiree rogers is stepping down. what do you make of this? >> well, i think she was a goner after the mess up with the salahis, crash be the first state dinner. she was a member of the obama inner circle. i'm sure they didn't want to cut her loose then but that was a huge mistake for a social secretary on the first state dinner, an embarrassment for the first famy and somebody had to take the fall and she has. >> interesting to see how that played out. let's talk about what you have coming up this week on fox news sunday. we know the. held a bipartisan health care summit this week. did they actually accomplish anything or was it more political theater? >> i think it was mostly political theater so the president could appear to be reaching out, trying to be bipartisan, trying to be transparent, putting it on television. but i think now what you're going to see is democrats in the hou

joining us is chris wallace. this is rather extraordinary. this back and forth we have seen.. the white house said, he's talk. suspect, we got him, he's talking. kit bond said how could you have released that information. we were told not to release that information by the fbi director robert mueller. the white house says that's not true, you owe us an apology. kit bond says it is true and you are not getting an apology. i haven't seen anything like this in recent history. >> you have to go back even further. the white house and president obama was under heavy fire ever since the christmas day bomb was read his miranda rights after 50 minutes of i arer nation on -- f interrogation on christmas night. they put out the information in a late afternoon briefing to reporters. we may have given his his miranda rights, but abdulmutallab is talking. i can't think of any other reason they would put that out. parts of the it was pushback against the political attacks they were getting from republicans and even some democrats. at the time i have to say i was surprised the white house re

bill: again, jim jones with fox news sunday and chris wallace. he made three points there. we can't keep detainees forever without some sort of due process eventually, it will never be zero, which is the point you made previously. >> right. bi-bill but the point in the middle about the rehab programs, we're hearing mixed reviews about whether a person goes to a rehab program in saudi arabia and whether or not they're converted, meaning to a life of innocence. do we know whether or not the rehab programs are working, kelly? >> they tend to work with some people but ultimately it's up to the person who goes through the program to decide whether or not he wants to go back to combatant activity. we don't know what the resid victim rate is, but general jones is correct, they do need due process and by the way, they're getting it through the habeas lawyers and habeas cases in district court in d.c., and there will never be a resid victim rate of zero. but we can detain some for the remainder of their life as long as the legal framework is in place and the justification is there.
