i'm meteorologist chris warren with your weather channel forecast.e we'll have the storms firing up. most of the corners of the u.s., with the exception of the southwest, pacific northwest, the northeast and the southeast and then in the northern plains and part of the western lakes, a chance for showers and some storms. dealing with some warm air to the north. today's highs, highs are going to be into the upper 80s in billings, over to minneapolis. still looking pretty nice throughout much of the northeast, 70s, lower 80s. temperatures will be there for you and will there will be showers and thunderstorms. same story along the gulf coast. soggy from new orleans to orlando. you can see the yellow and the blue and this time of year that means cooler temperatures. still cranking up the heat here. minneapolis, 92 on saturday. 89 in chicago on saturday. 70s and low 80s. temperatures in the low 90s in the mid-atlantic. looks like sunday in new york, just the upper 70s. there's going to be a line here in the northeast where it's a little cooler to the nort

i'm chris warren with your weather channel forecast.we're going to see. some crazy hot temperatures and what happens here? this is what we're going to watch, something potentially developing in the gulf. once it does develop like we think it is going to, where does it go. one thing we do know a lot of tropical moisture will be moving into florida for the first part of the weekends. it could be the entire weekend staying wet. you see this bull's eye right here, denver yesterday broke a record with 102 degree temperature. a record that has been standing since 1874. talking about some big-time heat. we're going to continue to see this heat grow in the center of the country here while you're going to start to enjoy some cooler temperatures in the northeast after the storms move through and get all the way out of here. going to see a few showers lingering around the great lakes. still wet on sunday in florida and it is still going to be hot here in the southern plains. once again, triple digits in many locations. salt lake city, you're even

i'm meteorologist chris warren with your weather channel forecast.ughout a good portion of the east coast and the midwest. but you see this right here. this rain, these storms we're going to have throughout the day today eventually will help cool things down. not the storms themselves but what's causing the storms. the cold front. so cooler air will be moving in to the northeast for you. so eventually we're going to see that cooler air. but once again today it is going to be another scorcher in the northeast. mid-atlantic and down into the south. you can see those temperatures starting to cool down. 70s behind the front. storms with the front. and hot out ahead of that front. so it's going to be a hot one again. then on friday we're still going to see some of those storms popping up in places. but you know what? this will be a sign that things are changing. it will be a bit of a bumpy transition. but nonetheless, it will be transitioning back to some cooler temperature readings. in fact, cooler at this point's relative. upper 80s and lower 90s. more
