i want to go to chris witherspoon. what are you hearing? >> hearing a lot of the same information about whitney's death, and we're still in shock and mourning over it. i think what's amazing is that for the past 20 years, whitney hasn't been the whitney we knew in the '90s. i am watching the footage, seeing great performances, but i think she has been on a downward spiral and she is known more for her personal life than performance and vocal abilities any more. >> that's something we've all been talking about, that her personal life sort of became front and center when she married bobby brown, sort of the curtain was lifted as somebody said, this pristine image was sort of shattered in our minds. >> yeah. i mean, we still know her as the voice, and i think people bringing her to functions, wanting her to sing. but at the end of the day, whitney is known more for -- as of late, known more for her bad girl image, not the pop princess she started as in the 1980s. >> do you think she would have been able to stage a come back? >> i think she cou
