here now is the weather with chris woakes. —— fawkes.. hello again.e, further north from northern scotland, a band of rain here, and we have got some further rain across the far south—west of england. it is across wales, the midlands and east anglia that we are seeing chavez brew. wider showers they are? it is down to a change in the wind direction. we have southerly winds colliding with more of an east—south—easterly wind on this drop, and as that boundary pushes northwards, so, too, will those big showers and thunderstorms, so late afternoon, early evening, the biggest storms likely across yorkshire and parts of north—east england more generally. some heavy downpours with hail and thunder mixed in. at the same time it should be a largely shower free afternoon for central scotland. there will be some pushing into the far south of scotland late in the afternoon. northern ireland is largely dry, and across south—east england it should be a fine afternoon with plenty of sunshine. overnight tonight, we're going to see that rain pushing northwards across
