my name is christa brown, and i'm with the financial justice project. we're housed with the treasurer and tax collectors office here in san francisco, and our office look at how fines and fees may disproportionately impact communities of color. so we are greatful for the leadership you all have shown in this base. i just want to share that first, we are in strong support of the recommendations outlined here today. over the past year, we've been working with a variety of city and county departments, including sf mta, the superior court, the human services agency, public defender, district attorney, to think about the fines and fees they charge low income families, and what solutions might be that result in real reforms for low income people and that are workable and manageable for the city and county department and take revenue considerations into mind. and we think that the proposals outlined today really reflect those guiding principles. we've seen over and own again across the city and county that flat rate fines and fees, particularly when they're ch
