i'm christa delcamp. we're keeping a close eye on the tropics. two storms people are keeping an eye out fors. two state bracing for impact. hawaii has a tropical system its up sound bags and boarding up hopes. >>> in florida a state of emergency had already been declared. the tomorrow is expected to make its way over to the east coast and possibly head our way. for the latest track let's send it over to chris lambert. >> all eyes on that for the weekend. sarah, especially for late sunday into monday. here's hermine. tropical storm 65-mile-an-hour winds. the latest update came an hour and a half ago. expected to become category 1 hurricane. it's getting better organized and will do so throughout the day likely making landfall tonight near apalachicola. once we get into the weekend and early next week you notice how this tight cone all of a sudden goes to this wide circular area. this increase of uncertainty where the track goes. it will cut off and meander around here just south of new england if not off the mid atlantic coastline for a couple wil

. >> christa: and i'm christa delcamp. a wet morning to start. grab that umbrella. we're tracking some rain. here's chris lambert. >> chris: it's cg buckets in new hampshire. jaffrey two inches of rain. a quarter inch so far in worcester. the the heaviest rain from manchester, new hampshire, back the athol right now. that stretches down close to holyoke here in western mass. this continues the slide off to the north and to the east. so you follow that trajectory. most of the span will be close to 495 and north and west. we have had some scattered showers south and west of the cape. so maybe some scattered showers there as we go through the rest of the morning.

. >> christa: an i'm christa delcamp. almost like back to july for today. humidity out there to start your morning. so here's chris lambert with more? >> chris: why not. we hit 90 degrees 20 times this summer. forward this afternoon. good morning, everyone. 73 in boston. christa mentioning the humidity. the dew point is close to 70. we are pushing those high humidity values. up to the west of us, mainly quiet. there are some showers out there in pennsylvania. a spot shower moving through this morning and early throughout mid-day. overall we'll increase the sunshine this afternoon, and that will continue to allow temperatures to jump up. we're talking about temperatures upper 80s to lower 90s.

i'm christa delcamp. right, after a certain age? >> chris: yep. we have been tracking the tropics. this is what we've been tracking here. >> christa: i was going the move on. >> chris: okay. so we have tropical storm hermine now into the gulf of mexico. you saw the satellite image. it's picked up strength overnight and early this morning wind is out of the northeast at 12mph. movement out of the northeast at 12mph. winds sustained at 60mph.

i'm sarah french. >> christa: and i'm christa delcamp. chris lambert has the latest on your forecast. >> chris: downpours out there, christa. keep that in mind. there is a flood advisory up for worcester, much of central worcester county. way up to bolton right here. that thunderstorm was producing all of the heavy rain sitting right on top of worcester with a rain rate of 1 to 2 inches per hour. so you get these bursts of heavy rain and you pick up a quick half an inch to an inch of water. it's great for the lawns. it's good to get water on the drought here, and too much too fast creates issues on the roadways. if you track the the heaviest of that rain over the next half hour or so, it look like downpours will can't to work in toward berlin, marlborough and eventually up into stowe 495 belt through the merrimack valley up into southern new hampshire, as well. we'll track more scattered showers and downpours south of long island that will work on in. the theme throughout the day, scattered storms and downpour, temps near 80. >> christa: f

. >> christa: i'm christa delcamp. cool morning to start off. let's get a check of the forecast. chris lambert, good morning. >> chris: good morning, christa. good morning, nancy. notnl a jacket, but also some patches of fog a possibility in some of the suburbs. we have a frost advisory in place southwest of boston and west of boston until 8:00 a.m. freezing mark, 32 degrees in norwood right now. it's 36 in bedford. 49 in boston. so we're nowhere close to the freezing mark in the city. so we'll get rid of the patchy fog. we'll warm up nicely this afternoon. by 3:00, 4:00 p.m., many towns running close to 65, 66 degrees. it will be a nice day, beautiful

i'm christa delcamp. and chris lambert has more on your forecast. >> sarah:>> chris: a little drid mist overnight. visibility about a quarter mile in boston. locally dense fog is just that. it's local. not all towns are seeing it. bedford, hyannis okay with that visibility. temperatures stuck in the upper 60s to near 70. the flat line for next several hours. once we break out into the sun later today, those temperatures will jump up, especially up on the coastline.

. >> christa: and i'm christa delcamp. it seems like fall just kind of got here right on cue yesterday, chris, with so many kids headed back. the weather and the traffic were nasty. fall out there, and, of course, the back-ups for miles on the roadways, something we'll have to deal with when we enter the school year. but if you like the summer weather and you want that back, we have that for you. temperatures running mid-60s to low 70s. the humidity is up you'll notice a mild and muggy start to the day. a lot of rain to talk about the next couple day, but occasionally the remnants of hermine will spin in an occasional shower that will work on through. so a couple spotty showers around.

christa delcamp, 7 news. tallest water slide. a 10-year old boy died on the ride. a team of private investigators is looking into the slide. today attorneys joined independent experts and investigators as they measured and took photos. last month he died from a neck injury after riding the slide, found in the pool at the end of the ride. he was the son of a kansas state legislator, two other women in the same raft were also injured. p carolina, south carolina after reports of creepy crowns in the neighborhood. police say it's no laughing matter. >> might be people clowning around but it's not funny. more and more people are reporting seeing clowns in theirneighborhoods, some men nasing children. >> clouds laughing in the woods with a brown box asking kids if are worried. >> the winds was so terrified that this man tried to lure owe them in the woods. somebody is trying to get these kids. >> about 3 miles away in greens broko, police got a 911 call reporting someone wearing a clown suit with a scary mask. chris grabbed a machete, chased him. >> happeningen somebody
