christie, i assure you, would challenge that. so would scott walker, i believe he will be a candidate. bobby jindal the senator from texas, ted cruz. senator from kentucky, rand paul. perhaps perhaps even governor john kasich of ohio. mike huckabee from fox, rick santorum. we're going we're going to have the biggest field fo we've had in decades. there's no clear front runner. republicans are frustrated what's going on in washington and they really genuinely want change. and, and, tucker, i think that there's only one mistake that i'm watching right now, which is the republicans desire to limit the number of debates between these candidates. governor rick perry of texas is another candidate. these guys have incredible accomplishments. and they should have the opportunity to debate those accomplishments, to debate that philosophy. and and the idea that the republican party would try to limit those debates, i think, is a mistake. >> more debate. so steve hayes for 50 years the republican party has been almost in the default position nominated the -- the guy who's run before. not necessarily the most conservative guy. do you think th

scott walker, new jersey governor chris christie. senator ted cruzr rick santorum, all hitting the podium today in iowa at the iowa freedom summit. but the summit is not just as notable for who is there you but also for who is not going to be there. jeb bush, mitt romney, senator marco rubio and senator rand paul. let's discuss with david tallian. and chris moody. david, i want to start with you, what can we glean from the list of people who will be there and those who will not? >> good morning, victor. yeah, basically, i'm standing at what is unofficially the starting line for the presidential race in 2016. what you're going to have here today are basically 1200 core activists. they are mostly social conservatives. they had dominate the process in the iowa caucuses next year. this is the key of the core. what you're going to see is the beginning of the poking and prodding. this is the cattle cal. iowans love to poke their candidates. they see that as first in the nation. 1200 activists during the day. and they're going to get to hear from all folks

ted cruz, chris christie, mike huckabee, rick santorum. donald trump, rick perry, scott walker partial list, steve king is getting quite a group do come to his summit. just a cattle call? >> it's interesting, i asked him this week, what's this about and what do you want to hear? and what do your supporters want to hear? he's expecting about 1,000 folks. interestingly, he insisted he really wants to hear them talk about national security. and he claims, this is an issue he's very concerned about. which is odd, because you don't hear steve king talk about national security too often. it's usually about immigration. he says i want to hear them talk about this. i think, i know at least some of the candidates were planning to discuss that issue. but we it will be interesting to see if they go into other issues. the most interesting to watch in this crowd is chris christie. he's seen on paper as the one least likely to appeal to an iowa voter. they're much more conservative. if he does well there, that has to bring great pause to romney and bush who have had issues with iowa in the p
