"today in the bay's" christie smith joins us now at the santa rosa sheriff's department with new details about the very suspicious death. good morning. >> reporter: good morning to you, laura and jon. sheriff's deputies are trying to get to the bottom of a very disturbing situation that started with an investigation of a suspicious car near sonoma state university. suspicious because of where it was parked. in the end they ended up finding a body in the trunk of a car wrapped in a blanket. they have not identified the victim or even how this person died but their investigation started around 6:30 last night with a car left in a no parking zone on petaluma hill road. a check of the license plate showed the car was tied to a person wanted for questioning in a crime that happened on friday near santa rosa. deputies looked closer and found evidence inside that they thought my have been tied to that crime on friday. they're not revealing a lot of information on what that crime was. again they looked closer. they found that the trunk was unlocked and inside was that body wrapped in a blanket.
