that's where christie smith is live in oakland with latest details. what a sad scene, christie. >> reporter: good morning. homicide investigators just arrived on scene. they were briefed by the sergeant and then headed into this home where a 1-year-old boy and a 20-year-old man shot and killed. a father and son. the house is the one with the porch light on and the gate open the baby taken to children's hospital and pronounced dead there. the man died inside the home. a man and woman walked up in tears asking if their son and grandson were okay. they've been speaking with police this morning. it was just before 3:00 this morning, calls started coming in from ghormley street in brookfield village in east oakland. there were several people inside the home at the time. it's believed that the shooter fired into the rear of the home, possibly a bedroom of that 20-year-old. at this point, police say they have no suspect information, no arrest, and we are in touch with them. of course if we get any new information, we'll bring it to you. christie smith, "today

christie smith has the latest on this difficult on going investigation. christ christie, good morning. >> reporter: three teenagers were in that car behind me. this is the tree that they hit. you can see the fence behind it is knocked down. this is on el capitan drive. one of the teens died, and police tell us that school was actually going to start today in the area. the police chief says the accident happened just before 9:00 last night, that the driver was heading north on el capitan. for some reason lost control lost control of the car. this is an all residential area. i spoke with one man who said he heard the crash. police say everyone in the car was either 17 or 18 years old. a passenger in the car taken to san ramon regional hospital and died. what caused such a violent crash, though, still unknown. >> too early to tell. there's no obvious signs of anything. that's what our investigators will be working on to make sure they can pinpoint speeds and other things. there's nothing obvious such as cans of alcohol or anything like that. >> reporter: the
