ktvu's christine christien kafton live in san francisco. vandals targeted this dealership and you can see the broken glass and over there you can see the plywood. off-camera they told me that they are very frustrated and they say that the police told them this is simply the cost of doing business in san francisco. >> reporter: plywood sheets cover windows in front of the bentley dealership. occupiers began their protest before dawn. over the course of the day, police arrested 19 protesters. late in the afternoon the protesters left the financial district and marched to geary and van ness. that is when a small group of those protesters smashed the windows of the dealership. visitors to the dealership today told that the damage is in the tens of thousands of dollars. >> we saw the windows and we were attracted to that and wondered what happened and then we went in and looked at bentleys and they said it happened last night. >> reporter: protest ers made their way into the vacant cathedral hotel. police arrested four before clearing the buildi

christien kafton joins us live this morning. >> reporter: firefighters are still here on the scene. let's give you a look. it might be hard to see. we saw a firefighter walk down this alley a couple moments ago with a flashlight trying to look for a hot spot that has been here all night. we have watched as firefighters have went back and forth spraying water on the hot spot. we arrived shortly before 4:00. i had a chance to walk through this building myself and see some of the damage up close. the fire started at 7:30 last night. it started in the back upper unit. quickly engulfed the whole building. in my tour i saw the back area imparticular a deck where the fire may have started. i saw extensive charring inside that building at this point it appears the fire traveled through the roof and engulfed the whole building. crews have been on scene putting water on the hot spot throughout the morning. >> there have been no injuries to any of the residence nor any of the firefighters. firefighters are still working. they have a stubborn fire in this attic area working aggressively to put

christien kafton has more on the cause. >> reporter: good morning.is still under investigation. firefighters are still here. if you take a look on -- take a look -- take a look on the ground. you ski where a lot of their investigation has centered. you can see the back -- back deck there. i had a chance to see the deck. the fire started here around 7:30 last night and started in the back upper unit and quickly engulfed the whole building there. it appear the fire traveled through the roof and burned the whole building. some of those neighbors stopped by for a closer look. >> it's all in the back. from this side. there are a lot of flames shooting out from the roof. >> reporter: now, again, you can see those fire crews still out here this morning, checking for a hot spot that's been flaring up and smoldering overnight. we are hearing that a fire sear is due to -- investigator is due to come out here. they will be focusing on that back area, that back deck area that we showed you a few minutes ago of it will be a sufficient investigation. so much -- so

paul chambers is live at the toll plaza and christien kafton is live as well. let's begin with christie -- christien. >> reporter: good morning. we got here 45 minutes ago driving south from daly city. we could definitely feel the wind rocking our van as we drove. as you watch our live pictures, you can also see the roadways approaching are certainly wet. so there is a concern for anyone driving out here as well. commuters may -- need to be aware that caltrans issued the high wind weather advisory and those wind with the roadways could definitely lead to a messy commute. the chp is advising drivers to slow down and leave more drive time. the john daly onramp to i-280 north into san francisco, there's problems there. that happened at about 2:30 at this moving. they tell me at one point there was about two feet of standing water there. officers cleared the debris. they called out caltrans crews. those caltrans crews had to do asphalt work. they are telling drivers to watch out for similar damage. >> you see a wet spot, where it looks like there may be a hole or st

. >> reporter: and that was our christien kafton reporting on the latest situation in oakland as the city deals with the arch math of last night's violent protests. >> at least 406 protesters were arrested last night. ktvu's lorraine blanco was outside the jail as protesters were being released. >> reporter: loud cheers for dozens of occupy protesters released from oakland's detention facility saturday. oakland police arrested hundreds the night before when protests became chaotic and at times violent towards officers. charges ranged from failure to disperse to assault. >> i don't necessarily condone criminal behavior, but i understand the reasoning behind it. >> reporter: many of those arrested, like deanna johnson say the protesters were exercising their right to free speech and trying to take ohio over a vacant convention center. the 19-year-old tells us spending all night in jail only reignited her frustration with theoretical. >> they woke us up every few hours and harassed us. >> reporter: outside the jail an organizer tried to keep an account of those coming out, providing med

first we go to christien kafton in livermore. >> reporter: good morning. livermore, checking in as one of the cooler places in the bay area. my photographer, keith, and i had an informal bet about how cold it was going to get. he thought down to 23. i thought 22. looks like we were both round. temperatures are starting to rebound. 26. that's one degree warmer than when it was. so maybe the temperatures are just starting to warm up. chilly temperatures have prompted the national weather service. despite those temperatures which are now just starting to warm up, that freeze warning is expected to run through 8:00 this morning. it will not be unusual for people coming out to their cars to find frost or ice on their windshield. while that can be a little inconvenience, it's a signal that there could be a more serious problem and that's black ice, especially on the bridges and overpasses. sal castanedo is keeping a close eye on that. and we'll alert you to places if that black ice has popped up. many people headed 0 work didn't expect it to -- headed to work di
