kristin kafton has been -- christien kafton has been following the story all morning with the latest on the investigation and the relationship between the homeowner and the victim. >> reporter: we'll get into the relationship between the homeowner and the victim in a minute. we can tell you that a cal/osha worker arrived on the scene. he took a look and took photos of the ditch which is now covered, to prevent anyone else from falling in the trench. otherwise, the scene is very much like it was last night, including the iv bag that was used to keep the worker hydrated. a cal i o-- a cal/osha investigator arrived. they met with the homeowner. neighbors say the homeowner is aaron. >> air von a great guy. the guy doing the work -- aaron is a great guy. the guy doing the work is considered family. >> reporter: neighbors say the 50-year-old oakland man was trapped you under hundreds of pounds of thick, wet, clay-like mud. >> we couldn't see his body. we could only see his head. we have to give him oxygen to keep him alive. >> reporter: finally, about 8:30, rescuers freed the man to the ch

christien kafton live at the scene with how the officer was ambushed. >> reporter: right now we're inermore and this was the weapon of choice. you can see rocks like these, thousands of them line the railroad tracks here on this overpass. at this point it's not clear if the officer was the intended victim of this ambush. but about a dozen rocks just like that one were thrown down at the officer on the road below. this afternoon livermore police recreated the ambush with a patrol car. the photographer snapped shots while investigators searched for suspects. police say at about 2:30 a seven year veteran officer found a large chunk of concrete on the roadway. when he got out of his police officer, someone struck. >> within seconds of being out of the car, several rocks and cement were being thrown at him. >> reporter: one large rock fell on the officers head and he called for back up. but by the time other officers showed up, the suspects had walked away. neighbors walked by the evidence markers and say they hope police catch whoever layed that track. >> this side of the train tracks doe

christien kafton is live outside. good morning, chris yen. >> reporter: facebook files its ipo paper work facebook could join that list of publicly traded companies. analyst estimate that the stock offering could raise as much as $10 billion with the total value of facebook registering between $70-$100 billion. some of the first beneficiaries will be facebook employees with stock options. they will be overnight millionaires and analysts say that could actually present a challenge for facebook. >> they have this extra money. you really want to keep them within that company. because that talent brought you to where it is. >> reporter: if facebook does file its paper work today, you could expect to see the ipo in april or may. market watchers estimate the initial stock price for investors could be somewhere in the $35-$40 range. we will be looking to speak to investors here to find out what they think about this initial public offering and whether they think facebook is a good investment. we'll continue to monitor that s

ktvu's christien kafton is at the scene now on alameda avenue talking to neighbors.ou know? >> reporter: well, let's start off with what alameda police toll me-- told me. they confirmed it was a murder suicide at 5:00 a.m. then at 7:00 we got more details. the incident seems to have happened at that home down there. we're gonna zoom in and show you. this was a domestic violence case that ended with a woman's death. neighbors tell me they heard gunshot gunshot wounds. police say a man shot and killed a woman here last night at about 6:30 and then turned the gun on himself. the woman died on the scene. the man was taken to the hospital where he died earlier this morning. neighbors heard a woman screaming. this morning we found one neighbor who said he knew the victim. >> yeah, she seemed really nice. said she was gonna move in with her boyfriend. it was months ago. but yeah, she was really nice. >> reporter: police do confirm for us via an e-mail that the couple involved had previously been in a dating relationship but they also say they found a handgun belonging to th

christien kafton has more. >> reporter: the mayor toll us that the talks had sold out e was very upset. there were even reports that pg&e had walked out of negotiation. >> the reason we're here today is the pg&e is stalling negotiations to settle millions of dollars of restitution to the san bruno community. we're calling upon pg&e to immediately return to bargain in good faith with the city of san bruno. >> reporter: the city says the talks stalled out in the last few weeks but the maybor would not elaborate on what the sticking points are. pg&e has already agreed to pay $70 million to pay for infrastructure damage following the explosion. the talks the city is talking about today amount to punitive costs that the city would plan to use for other projects. the city says the last time they talked with pg&e was last monday. one of the negotiators, greg, told us today he was surprised by the news conference saying pg&e never broke off negotiations. >> we have not. we're continuing the gauch-- negotiations, met with them last week. >> reporter: now, again, in the news conference, the mayo

let's go live to christien kafton. what is happening? >> reporter: let's give you a live look right away. you can see the far two left lanes on the bay bridge are closed at this hour. there was a roll over accident here. we just spoke with chp about five minutes ago. there was a disabled suv in the far left hand lane. a white car came up behind it and smashed into the back of that suv flipping it over. paramedics transported two people to the hospital. you can see chp has the two far left lanes closed right now. it does look like they will get those lanes reopened fairly soon. if we come around you can see traffic is moving in the far right lanes of the bridge right now so that is causing some slow traffic as you come up the incline section and you can see that cal tran crews in the distance are working to clear the last of the debris in the far left hand lanes. again two people transported to the hospital following a roll over accident on the far left hand learn of the bay bridge. it looks like three lanes are closed down in the far thr

ktvu's christien kafton is outside of the home where a trench suddenly collapsed. >> reporter: good morningcting a cal/osha inspector out here. the scene has been frozen. there's tennis shoes, some items left over from the rescue. over to the right, that's where the trench was. that trench is now covered up with plywood. you can see some signs on it. they are advising people not to step on the plywood. the clps happened around 5:30 yesterday afternoon, trapping him up to his chest under hundreds of pounds of wet clay- like mud. firefighters did arrive on the scene. they were able to get water via the man. he was talking at the time. it did take firefighters three hours of removing the mud by hand. finally, he was pulled to free.
