ktvu's christien kafton is live at the scene of the crash. this happened in the middle of the afternoon. >> reporter: that's right. you can see the car has been towed. you can see the tire tracks in the muddy area where the car wound up. when police officers responded she was in her car with her son and hadn't made a call for help possibly because she was driving while intoxicated. the crash happened tuesday afternoon. the woman was speeding -- was speeding and went off the road. neither her or her son were injured but chp found she was driving on a suspended license and officers suspected she was intoxicated and she was arrested and booked. >> she lost control. she placed that child in to a situation that could have resulted in serious injury. in california, if you place a child in that situation it is a felony charge. >> reporter: we talked with a bicyclist who passed through here, officers told him she passed out in the back of the police cruiser. she is in jail now. i talked with the district attorney, prosecutors are waiting for lab resu
