give us a better idea how it looks, turn it over to meteorologist christina loren to really give usa clear picture of this. good morning. >> hey, good morning to you, marla and jon. good morning at home. lets take it right to your radar satellite compilation. a couple of things to point out. you can see the red outline, an indication of a tornado watch box. that's the area we're watching for today. north texas has significant risk of thunderstorms and tornadoes. we're starting to see stronger storms flair up as the sun is now warming up the atmosphere. that's what tends to feed these storms. when we talk about what's happening, we have this warm gulf moisture pushing up. you know what, that's colliding with a cold front dropping from the south. the two colliding air masses just produce fireworks. as you can see we've got a lot more severe weather to get through in this region today. if we do see any tornadic, northeast texas, southwest arkansas or southeast oklahoma where they are still trying to effort the recovery. back to you, jon and marla. >> the last thing they need. okay, than

but first, to meteorologist christina loren in san jose with exactly how hot it's really going to get out there. >> reporter: good morning to you. sure doesn't feel like morning out here. we are soaring temperaturewise. san jose is one of the cities where it's not that hot. let's get right to your current temperatures right now. as you can see, plenty of 70s and 80s. some of the warmer cities are right along the peninsula. as we head throughout the day today, if we shatter or break any sort of all-time temperature records, it will be near the coast or near the peninsula around the inner bay where we typically do not see the 90s, especially this early in the season. now, winds are dropping off. that red flag warning was able to expire, which is good news for the elevated fire danger. it's still going to be rather high for today because of the hot temperatures and the dry eat. we'll tell you when we get a cooldown and some showers because showers remain in the forecast as well. we'll drop like a rock and the pattern shifts dramatically. we'll take you to those changes coming up. right n
