you remind us. >>> christina loren keeping it cool. we like it. >>> we just learned the driver of the spanish passenger train remains hospitalized this morning now under police guard. the judge assigned to investigate this crash telling police to question that driver sometime today. the train company says the driver is a 30-year veteran of the firm with more than a decade of train driving experience. however, investigators say they had a taste for speed. even posted a picture of a train's speedometer with the needle cranked up to 120 miles per hour and brag that the reading had not been tamper with. investigators say he also wrote on his facebook page saying it would be a rush to go past police that the rail company would actually be fined. the train entered that curve on wednesday. local media reported it was going 120 miles per hour. meantime, authorities now say a total of 78 people have died so far in the crash as opposed to the 80 that they reported yesterday. >>> it is 4:51. attorneys for the cleveland man accused of kidnapping t

let's check in with meteorologist christina loren. >> 5:36.a live picture, san jose, mid-level moisture overhead. the subtropical moisture feels humid out there. it's going to feel stickier later on. we'll see the clouds bubble up as we head further into the day. a slight chance for thunderstorms and a better chance for tomorrow and wednesday. also expecting showers when we meet back here tomorrow morning. 57 degrees in san jose, at 58. 57 in san mateo and san francisco. that goes for gilroy as well. taking a look at your satellite doppler radar. you can see we have quite a bit of moisture creeping up from the south. this is very muggy air. you'll notice the difference. temperatures aren't going to exceed their overall average by much. maybe a few degrees. average about 86 in livermore, about 88 degrees today. isolated thunderstorms expected later today. we have a better chance as we head throughout tomorrow. want to put that on your map. for today, keep that in mind. western-facing slopes for the san jose mountains, the best chance today. 88

. >>> weather time, let's check in with christina loren. getting close to the weekend. >> indeed we are. i can certainly taste it from here at this point. we've got a good looking weekend shaping up. last weekend it was kind of hot. this weekend, just right for all your outdoor plans. 56 in livermore, san jose, 55 for gilroy in the mid 50s just about everywhere with rain on the radar. it's actually getting a little more active. i want to widen out to show you the overall flow. wrap-around moisture around a big ridge of high pressure that's bringing the moisture as far to the north as the san jose mountains. now we're seeing quite a bit more of these spotty cells. this is an indication of how humid it is. i think we'll see light showers in the south bay in the next few hours. low ceilings, sfo, flight delays likely again today. cooler temps this afternoon by about three to five degrees on average. it's going to be really comfortable out there. we are looking really good as we get into this all-important upcoming weekend. >>> 85 inland. 76 ba
