some friends, donovan mabie-bahr anan christina lutze, were staying in the camper parked right outside. the kenleys say everybody was inside the house at the time visiting with some other friends. suddenly, there was a strong odor of smoke. but at first, no one could figure where it was c cming from. "i could smell it stronger in the kitchen area and i couldn't figure out where it was coming from and then the friend that came over, who knows both families, said yeah, i smell it strong now too." eventually everyone figure out the fire was inside the camper and spreading to the the kenleys got out okay. but mabie-bahr went inside to reeue a dog in tte camper and was hospitalized with smoke inhalation but the kenleys say he is recovering. one firefighter tripped on the hose and was sent to a hospital with a leg injury. another was bitten by a doggbut treated at thh scene. today, friends of the faily started fundraising to help them get back on their feet. and we'll tell you about that tonight at six. the man who police say triggered several hawk alerts on the university of iowa campus ear
